Please look on the case of the PC, fron back & sides. There should be a model number. (There is no such number you posted, Packard Bell UTOW CO20).

SOURCE: packard bell utow co20 the computer will stay on for as long as I dont use it, but as soon as I start useing it it will shut down in about 5 mins

First things first: "work" in giving this away has dodged the "responsible disposal" bullet. Drivers for this unit are probably limited to windows 98 or earlier, as the last Packard-Bell was produced in that era. Drivers for sound in particular were Packard-Bell only, and since they aren't around any more unless you can get your hands on the original installation CD you're out of luck to make the existing soundcard work. You do howrever have the option to install a newer soundcard, that should fix that issue. As for the shutting down, make sure the heatsink has good thermal contact with the processor as it sounds like the processor may be overheating. If there's a fan make sure it is running.

You've got a challenge if you want to see it all work, have fun.

SOURCE: hello,I need information on hard drive speed and

You should be able to get the info. by looking at System information. In windows, go to Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-System Information. Next, click on + sign by "Components", the + sign by "Storage" and finally click "Disks". The info. shows up in the right window pane. For the rpm speed, you may copy the Model No. that is listed there and search Google to find out drive speed.

Reinstalling windows on desktop

you will not be able to get the drivers for the packard bell computer, especially for windows XP. the computer was discontinued way before XP came out, as well as the company going out of business. There is a new packard bell company, but based in Europe only. In addition, when you use the HP cd, it will probably say not compatible with non-hp computers.
your best bet is to download you important information and store it on a new unit.
