REFRESH DATABASE MESSAGE

I TRIED USING THE STEPS FROM THE DATABASE TO FIX THE REFRESH DATABASE MESSAGE, MY PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN I PRESSED THE RECORD BUTTON AND CONNECT THE DEVICE TO MY COMPUTER IT TURNS ON FOR TWO SECONDS, DISPLAYS THE MESSAGE 'SYSTEM LOCKS, SHUTTING DOWN, AND WILL NOT GO ANY FURTHER. HOW CAN I PASS THIS STEP TO BE ABLE TO CONTINUE WITH THE NEXT STEP. THANK YOU,

Press the "lock" button to where the Orange is showing. Then press the record button on the left side of the MP3 for a bit. Try this several times. I did it twice and it worked! M.P.

Screen remains on Refresh Database everytime I turn it on.

I've run into this also. a few options.. 1) Use the Sansa Updater software to upgrade firmware. (available on Sandisk website) 2) Sometimes adding a couple new songs back wakes it up.

Continous refresh database

I've got the same problem too. I read this on another website: 'well firstly drain the battery and then connect it to charge it up a bit. once it has been there for 5min or so take it off and then turn it on>settings>USB Mode>MSC once you have done that connect it up and it should work/recognise the player. i don''t know how this thingy happens but this is just how i fixed mine!' I'm gonna try it now on mine, and see if it works. I've just got to wait now... Good luck with yours.
