I have a 91 2.2L Cavalier. The Heater/AC Fuse blows as soon as I try to use the panel. I disconnected both cables to the Blower and the fuse still pops. If have the control set to Off, replace the fuse, start the car, then stop it and check the fuse it's fine. But, if I start the car, and turn the controls to anything besides off the fuse pops.
I can't read the schematic very well, and I'm not positive what to check next.
SOURCE: 5 amp fuse in passengers fuse panel keeps blowing
It also feeds the overhead console.Suspect that is were your problem is.
SOURCE: blowing number 19 fuse in the dashboard fuse panel
you have a dead short in the starting cicuit first thing is check any where you have had any other work done that might have pinched a wire.
Testimonial: "Thanks David, Will give it a try."
SOURCE: Heater bower won't blow
could be a faulty switch, or bad ground. here is what you do. #1 wiring diagrahm examing this to understand how the circuit works-fuse, relay, control
device-is it a resistor switch or is there a transistor
easy to determine -resistor switch has -three settings, transistors are capable of more. #2 being that you know how to disconnect the blower motor you can check the supply side of the circuit-obtain a digital multimeter-dvom, connect the ground lead to a good known ground place the positive lead on to the positve wire at the blower motor harness (blower motor disconnected) switching fan speed on thru selections read the values of your voltmeter-low speed should be low voltage (12v system) high speed should be full 12v . if no power supplied at all a switch input test would be required (this will require ohm meter and check resistance) you will be expecting continuity, low speed will be alot of resistance, higher speed will be less resistance-max will be no resistance. if the switch is deemed good-see if there is power into the switch, if so check for continuity from switch harness to blower motor-measure the resistance-should be no less than 0.1ohms. remember when checking continuity the ciruit must be iscolated.
SOURCE: The blower motor stopped working, so I replaced
disconnect the blower motor. if the fuse is ok then, the blower motor is bad. if the coolant leak is on the passenger floor, you may have a heater core leaking, although you may also smell a sweet odor from it.

ignore this... I added it to the proper forum, not sure how to remove it.
