Does anyone know how to get to the existing roller and seperation pad in tray 2. They need replacing but I just can't get to them? I can see where they are but can't remove any of the surrounding parts to get to them
Thanks

the paper feed rollers/ seperation rollersare the most likely cause- the machine will make three attempts at feeding from the cassette before throwing a jam light . open the paper tray and completely removethe feed tray which then gives you clear access to the feed roller ( black about 1 1/2" long) positioned about 2" into the cavity on the top.#
clean this roller (slowly turn roller to get at all sides) with wd40 Spray (on cloth) allow 5 mins for the cleaning fluids to do their job and then completlely wipe off any oil from the roller - given another ten ,minute to air the feed roller should now work again at least for a little bit - You can order a maintenance kit which contains this roller and also the seperation pad ( found on the cassette ) as well as a new fixing unit .which will most likely fix the fault good luck
theres a good chance that excess toner or Rubber degredation is what is causing your Black line/band, The Manual feed tray Uses A feed roller and a Seperation Pad If toner has spilt on to the top of the manual feed Roller Housing theres a good chance it may be Seeping on to the print paper Via the Feed roller Instructions:- open tray One at the front of tray one is a Closed Hatch which can be opened Upwards using the finger release catches on either end. Once lifted upwards the Manual feed roller should be clearly Visible - Rotate the feed roller until you can see the blue lock plate ho;ding the fed roller in place, insert a flat blade screw driver an d twist gently until you hear the lock plate release , remove the feed roller. You should now see the Offending Seperation pad. Cleaning the Seperation pad should be done using a Rubber restoration Liquid and LintFree Cloth. Use the same on the Feed roller . refit roller to tray and close and lock the Blue plate . close down the Service Hatch and return to machine - You may need to run several pages through tray one before all tread marks Dissapear
take out the paper tray. On the tray you will see a roller and/or seperation pad. Clean it with a damp cloth with a dab of dish detergent. Then look in the cavity where the paper tray slides in. there you will see another roller. clean that one too.

On the paper tray, rub clean the seperation pad with a damp cloth. Then look under the unit where the tray is inserted, there is a roller, clean that too.
The pick up roller is in the paper tray. It is the roller in the middle front of the tray. Usually, you press the roller to one side and it will pop out. Install the new one doing the reverse. There is a seperation pad that may need cleaning, too. Rub it with a damp cloth.

The seperation pad is worn out. order a seperation pad and tray 1 feed roller. you can usually pop out the seperation pad with a small flathead screwdriver and the new can be clicked in its place. the feed roller has a blue tab that unlocks it from the axle.
sounds like the seperation roller in the paper tray is worn .. this roller is there to stop multiple feeds or it may have a pad in your tray open the paper tray up and look at the roller in the tray or the pad ; and give it a clean with a damp cloth.. also check the paper if it has been in the tray over the weekend when not used sometimes they pick up cold or dampness and so the paper sticks to the top sheet.. Im thinking more on the lines of the sepertion roller/pad area.. Goood luck A
OK you said you replaced the rollers. If you have not repalced the SEPERATION PAD, (located directly under your pick up roller....thats your problem. Easily done.
Have you tried to clean the pick up rollers with a rag with a small amout of WD-40 or Simple Green. Clean the roller then whip off with a dry rag. If the problem improves you need to replace the pick up rollers. If not you may have to replace the paper feed clutch. Also, look to see if the seperation pad is ingaging when the paper tray is pushed in. Open the left side door. I've seen the actuator break. Also, have you tried to use the manual feed tray???? I know you made sure the paper guides in the paper tray are set correctly for the size paper in the tray??? Good Luck
this is caused due to the pickup rollers and seperation pads being worn. if you run your fingers across them you will no dobt find that they are very smooth and thats the problem. the rollers and pads need to be rough so that they can cause friction against eachother to seperate the pages. i
What make model is it and i will try source the part numbers for you
