Appox 1 month ago, the water quit from coming out of the water dispenser. The unit was still making ice.
Today I replaced the water filter, checked for kinks in the hoses.
It appears that the ice dispenser is not making ice anymore as well.

http://www.repairclinic.com/0100_1.asp There's an ice- or water-dispensing problem
The ice and water-dispensing system of your refrigerator is quite complex. Many components work together to provide the ice and water. Aside from a simple problem of a leaky water tube or a jammed ice chute, most other components are not user serviceable. We suggest that you contact a qualified appliance repair technician for such repairs.
Three things could be wrong:
Solenoid switch where the water comes into the unit has gone, this control the flow of water into both the ice maker and the water dispenser.
If the switch is good and then you need to check your filters, sometimes inside the door top right. or on one of the corners on the bottom front.. You should be able to unscrew them with you hands.. make sure water is off behind unit or where ever your shut off is at.
One last thing.. check for kinks in the water line behind the unit if it was pulled out lately.
Make sure the wire guide that pulls up when ice is at full capacity is not accidentally pulled up. (this is above the ice bin in the freezer). Pull back down and should make ice.
No solution but just a warning. We had this same thing happen. They sent a repairman to replace the control board. Then did it again. Just before Christmas, the WATER started dispensing by itself. Luckily, I was nearby and heard it or the damage would have been extensive from flooding. They are now 'working on' getting a response from Thermador. I feel like this thing is just a homeowners claim waiting to happen.
First, the water valve at the bottom rear of the refrigerator may have failed. You didn't mention if there is a water dispenser and whether or not this is still working. This valve pumps water to the icemaker and water dispenser when the control unit of the icemaker calls for water. Also, there could be a blockage in the line which brings the water to the icemaker.
The other possibility is that the part of the icemaker controls which calls for water from the valve has failed. If this has happened, it would likely be more cost effective to replace the icemaker unit.
The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice
maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear
it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube
it will freeze blocking the tube..You can take the water
line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.
Your water line could be frozen in the door. You can
disconnect the line under the unit before it goes into the door at the bottom
hinge. Push the dispenser button and see if it comes out there. If it does leave the door open till it thaws disconnect
the line to the water dispenser at the water inlet valve on the back where the
water supply comes in and try the dispenser. if you hear the valve work but
water doesn't come out, the valve is bad. If you don't hear the valve, the
dispenser switch is bad.
Most times that is the dual water control valve on rear of your refrigerator. Sometimes the switch in the door. Have someone pull the refrigerator away from wall and unplug the wires going to each side and ohm the coils. They should both show very close to the same amount of resistance. If you still have problems, let me know and make sure the model number has a prefix like MDO2561HES for example. That way I will be able to help you better. Thanks
1) Check the filler tube which allows water to enter the dispenser through the back wall of the freezer. This tube may be frozen inside. You can pull the tube out gently and clear it.
2) The inlet valve may be faulty/blocked. Where the water connects to the water valves behind the fridge, try to swap the plugs around from the one valve to the other. They should be colour coded. Then try dispensing water. If water runs into the ice-maker then the ice maker valve is faulty/blocked.
