Winfax and Act! V6

Both Winfax V10 and ACT! 6 installed on a machine with an internal modem. I can send a fax manually using the message manager, so no problems there. When i try and send a fax through ACT! it prints directly to the winfax printer and the fax never shows up in the message manager and,of course, the fax never goes. ive tried reinstalling both and no joy. Im pretty sure ive got everything right but cant get this working. Oh yes, i have had this working before on a dofferent PC.

Go to Printers in the Control Panel, right-click the WinFax printer driver and select Properties. Click "Print Test Fax"

Does WinFax appear with the Windows Test Page?
if not, you may have a problem with your WinFax setup

If you have a firewall program go through the firewall program and allowing your winfax pro access to the internet.

I give up. I have winfax software on this machine, but I am new at the job. Please can you help me link my fax to the winfax software? I am not able to send faxes as I think you actually have to be...

You need to setup a fax modem to be able to send and receive faxes with WinFax.

In WinFax, click on Tools, Setup.
Click on Modems & Communications Devices.
Here you can configure your fax device.

You need a fax modem, a DSL modem or a cable modem is not a fax modem.

Incoming faxes jam system

This can be any number of problems, like corrupt logs, too many entries in your default log structure, or simply a bad modem setup. You can check this link regarding rebuilding your logs:

The faxes wont show up in the Message Manager Message store folde

You might need to rebuild your logs.

I cannot see faxes in my WinFax outbox. I am still using WinFax Pro - trying to send a group fax - and the outbox is blank even though there is a number in the log count at the bottom...

You probably have a conflict with your INTERNET EXPLORER 7 or 8.
