Sounds like the mirror actuator is broken.... (this is a small motor which moves the mirror on the laser assembly.) The laser unit needs replacing. however the unit is modular, so can be replaced easily. if this is under warranty you could return it to the manuf... if not, if you can order a laser unit you can replace it yourself.

HHB CDR 850-No laser lit up...shouldn;t there be light ie. laser

YesI when the unit is first turned on the laser will emit a red light when scaning, if no beam is present it is time to replace your player, not cost effective to repair.

White line on copies

Hi
I think it does need 'printhead cleaning'.The printer uses a lens on the Laser Scanning Unit.So instead of emitting ink,the Scanning Unit uses a laser beam directed straight to the drum of the toner cartridge.
Clean the lens using a cotton wool.

Hope it helps.Thanks

What is LSU and price of the LSU?

From: <a href="http://skyjuiceiswater.blogspot.com/2008/09/cleaning-samsung-ml-1610-laser-printer.html">http://skyjuiceiswater.blogspot.com/2008/09/cleaning-samsung-ml-1610-laser-printer.html</a><br /> <br /> Laser Scanning Unit (LSU)<br /> <br />It is the &ldquo;printer head&rdquo; of the printer. Instead of emitting ink, the LSU emits a laser beam, directing it at the drum of the toner cartridge so that electrostatic charge can be transferred onto the paper to form a &ldquo;temporary glue&rdquo; to pick up the carbons as the paper passes through the drum.

MY HP ''COLOR LASER JET 2600n'' HAS FUOLL INK CARTRIDGES BUT THE PRINTING IS REALLY DULL AND FADED LOOKING. CAN ANYONE HELP? TERRY M.

This is a common problem with this model of printer. The scanner optic degenration is due to dust buildup on mirrors and lenses. Since the most vulnerable mirror reflects its laser beam to the magenta toner cartridge, red tones are the first to show fading. Colours shift: purples turn blue and oranges turn yellow. The printer will need to be cleaned by a certified HP technician to resolve this issue as it means dismantling your printer to fix the problem.

What is err0r code E 7 02 IN ARM 450 COPIER

The E7-02 means the beam detect sensor never received a beam from the laser. As the previous poster stated you'll need a new laser unit. Meaning that you need to change the whole laser unit but not the polygon motor.

E7 02 Content Laser trouble
Detail BD signal from LSU is kept OFF, or ON.
Cause The connector of LSU or the harness in LSU
is disconnected or broken.
The polygon motor does not rotate normally.
The laser home position sensor in LSU is
shifted.
The proper voltage is not supplied to the
power line for laser.
Laser emitting diode trouble
PCU PWB trouble
Controller PWB trouble
Check and
remedy
Check for disconnection of the LSU
connector.
Use DIAG (SIM 61-1) to check LSU
operation.
Check that the polygon motor rotates
normally or not.
Check light emission of laser emitting diode.
Replace the LSU unit.
Replace the PCU PWB.

Replace the Controller PWB.

Symbol LS9203 barcode scanner won't connect to PC with USB cable

Hi Mluckham. Far more concerning is your "non-moving dot". The LS9203 is an omnidirectional scanner (as you know) and it should emit a lovely grid of lines regardless. If the single dot you're describing looks like that of a laser pointer, then there is a fairly serious problem within the unit and would explain it not connecting. If that is the case, I would suggest looking into your warranty and getting it fixed or a replacement.

Problem after installing new Lens for LG DVD Player !!

Hi
I've been working on DVD players since they were invented, and was factory trained by Sony, Hitachi, and Kenwood, but I must admit, I'm not understanding your question.
The laser diode fires through a lense, that is supended on tiny wires, and moved into focus by an electro-magnet. Now, I have replaced lenses that have popped off due to poor adhesive from the factory, but I have no idea what you mean by "unlocking the lense"
If you mean that you have replaced the entire laser ***'y, and it is not emitting, then that is likely because the shorting bar has not been removed. It protects the laser during shipping and storage, and must be removed. If you compare it to the old laser, you will see pins shorted together by a tiny metal bar, or in some cases just solder...if this is not removed, the laser will not emitt. If you put the old one in and it does, then 99% that is the problem...if the old one does not, then the laser is probably not your problem. Hope this helps, and be careful to always look at the laser at an angle to check for red light, so you aren't performing home laser eye surgery...not a good idea!

P.S. After re-reading your question, on some models, it is possible to replace the lense ***'y, because the electro-magnet has failed in some way, and does not move the lense, but if that is the case, I don't know why the laser would suddenly stop emitting, just because that was changed...normally it is all one ***'y. Good Luck!
