Question about Sylvania 6842-PEM 42 in. EDTV-Ready Plasma Television
I have a Sylvania 6842-PEM that is about 1 year old. A few weeks ago I noticed flickering and blinking while watching a show, it stopped and restarted a few times. I contatcted the cable company and they say TV problem not their system. I tried changing cables and coverter boxes still the same problem. The problem is: after the unit is turned on the display starts flickering/blinking. You see thin white horizontal lines. they flicker and blink are a few seconds to a couple of minutes. Somedays nothing at all. Any suggestions
Something is breaking down. Possibly a specific ceramic capacitor on the main power pcb that has been troublesome. Usually there is just a loud pop and the screen goes dead. If the set is less than a year old it is still on parts warranty and the technician could just change circuit boards until the problem is gone.
