After installing the modem it doesn't work

Dell latitude c640 it is not allowing me to install a modem the error after installation is that no device is installed for this driver. i have used it before i only formated the hard drive

Disconnect the phone line from the modem and connect a normal phone to this phone line. Lift the handset and check it you have a dial tone and see if you can dial out.
If you don't get a dial tone then there is a fault with the phone line and it needs to be repaired before you can use your modem.

Dell Latitude c640 wont boot in normal but will boot in safe mode. num lock and caps lock work but just has blank screen after xp splash screen

Check the device manager to check if all your devices are working properly.

Well yes and no. Yes you can uninstall the software but then you will not have any wireless connection. Unless you are going to replace it with something else.

as you are telling your driver has not been installed properly please visit the manufacture website and download latest driver and reinstall it( before installing remove the existing driver)
