I've changed printer heads, ink cartridges, etc. However, I may have triggered something when I tried to set up my scanner and fax components. But I don't know how to get back to what I did....thanks

What application were you trying to print from at the time. Does the printer give this error message all the time or only from this program? I need this info to assist you bzoe...lilacgerry

Ok lets go for basics first, and you are most welcome. Let's reset the deafult settings in case you accidenatlly changes something. Turn the whole unit off, unpug it, all cables, replug it and turn it on. Go to your pc printer icon and scroll to properties. Check to see any settings are not ticked such as print offline or pause or similar. If they are, uncheck them. Now, go to printer icon again, find where your default settings are (usually in properties too) and click anything that says restore settings, default settings etc. This should fix all issues.

It happens all the time. I use OpenOffice.org software and Mozilla Firefox for my internet. When I copy information for example a job posting here at Harvard, the copy prints just the colored logo, and side bar blue categories, but not the guts that are in black. Nor from the OpenOffice, will it print my letters. So, I don't think it makes any difference what is on. However, I must say I tried to get my scanner and fax up and going. But being semi-illiterate in this business, perhaps I snaffued something and didn't know it? Still can't scan, nor fax. URgh. Many thanks BZoe
