The usb connection and the mouse should have a button both need to be pushed usually the usb connector first then the mouse, or shut down the computer then restart. let me know if this helps.

The USB connection is the item that connects into the USB port it is usually a small squarish device if you do not have that then you are using a bluetooth device not a USB mouse, Infrared is still in use on laptops so there could even be a infra red mouse device running around out there. make sure the batteries are good in your mouse and putting out 1.4 volts at a minimum. new fresh batteries put out about 1.6 volts

Check the batteries. Logitech mouse seems to work till battery has completely empty.

When battery/s is dead it suddenly stops, working till the last minute of battery life.

I have a mini laser mouse says its connected but mouse wont work

You may have to push the search button on the underside of the mouse or change batteries and also puck both the reset for the mouse and computer so it can read from each other make sure that there is no laptop other than your around move any wireless components away from the device or wireless phone. Make sure that nothing is blocking especially metal or objects that could deflect the sensor from reading back and forth. If none of this seems to work. Get another mouse? Thanks for using FixYa! My hp wireless mouse quit new battery's, reboot pc, reset mouse button, no light, seems dead "-(

HI there,

There is one sure-fire way to see if your mouse is alive. Plug its wireless receiver into a different computer and see if it works on that one. If it does, then you know that the USB port on the computer you usually use has the problem.

If it won't work on another computer then the sending unit inside the mouse, or the receiving unit you plug into the USB port is dead.

Best Regards,

Marcus

My mouse was just working and all of a sudden it stopped, I changed the batteries, reset the small button on the bottom and also pushed the button on the plug in portion. Help Allen

I have a miscrosoft wireless laser mouse 6000, and it also stopped working on my laptop. I changed the battery, still not working. I tested the battery in another device, and it was good. I moved the mouse to another computer, and it did not work. The light on the usb connector was lit. [No changes at all to my laptop.]. It seemed like there was no power to the mouse, and I looked at the contacts inside the mouse. The contact just inside the battery opening appeared to be bent down away from the contact on the battery tray. So, I pulled it up a little so it would connect when the battery drawer closed, and (after tweaking it a couple of times), it finally worked!

CANT GET WIRELESS MOUSE TO WORK

Try changing with a new set of batteries. also try to reset the connection of the wireless mouse and keyboard. you can locate a connect button on both the reciever and wireless keyboard. press both of them together and release them. this would reset the connection. try doing the same for reciever and wireless mouse connect buttons. this should work. also check for any possible alignment issues.
