Make sure both transportation locks are unlocked.

Unplug the power supply from the power port on the scanner then plug it back in after a few seconds and power-up if it isn't already on. This happens to me a lot and this works every time. Frustrating though.

Yes the scanner is compatible with a downloaded driver from epson. however some of the supplied third party software may not be. Also with MACS the push button scan may not work.

Hi,
I think the printer driver is not communicating properly or it's not installed correctly. Follow these steps to correct:-

1. Turn OFF the printer, then Un-install printer software/Driver (Epson Scan).
2. Restart your computer, then open WINDOWS EXPLORER (Right-Click START tab , select EXPLORER or WINDOWS EXPLORER)
3. Navigate C:\windows, then locate twain_32 folder & then rename it to different name like twain_32_old.
4. Restart your computer, After that Re-install printer software (Epson scan).
