Problem the copier is showing L1 i have not tried resolving it please i need assistence

L1:SCANNER UNIT FORWARD MOVEMENT PROBLEMS,POSSIBLY BAD SENSOR, SCANNER MOTOR, OR BOARD I would check that the transit screw that holds the scanner in place hasn't reconnected. The second thing is to lift up the glass and check that you can drag the scanning bit (the mirrored bit that moves) across. That should sort it.

L1: is problem in scanner home position sensor error try to clean the sensor and check on scanner moment it must be smoothly.

What does L 1 mean on my Sharp AL-1540CS Also E 7. Help.

The L1 is for a scanner movement failure. The scanner bar that maoves back and forth under the glass is not moving as it should. The E7 is for a scanner lamp reference failure which CAN be caused by the scanner movement failure so I would try and resolve the L1 first. I have a tip posted here at Fixya that resolves the L1 so try that first and it may fix both problems. If not just comment on this and I will try and help you resolve any remaining issues.

When your copier scanner is locked then show L1
Solve :Unlock position
clean all surface in scanner area
clean scanner sensor

L1-18 code

I don't see a reference to a L1-18. A L1 code is a scanner feed problem. I only show a L1-00 code. Sorry.

I'm not sure exactly which error messages you are getting, but see here for a common scanner error solution, and here is a solution that will resolve most cartridge errors.

L1 SHOWING ON SHARP COPYER SF756

An L1 generally means the lamp carage is not moving. Remove the glass and see if that lamp assembly moves back and forth freely or if it is hitting something in it's path.
