Icecam set up/installation problems

My boyfriend and I bought an Macally IceCam for use with skype and we are having problems setting it up, uploading the driver and getting skype to recognize the camera. He has an ibook G4 with OSX on it. He tried to load the mac OSX driver, but it didn't seem to work. He has tried to install several times, but each time when it says that the installation is complete, when he tries to open the monitor folder nothing happens. Also, he cannot eject the installation disc because it says it is still in use even after the installation is complete. And then ofcourse skype did not recognize the camera. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I just purchased an Icecam after I read somewhere that I do not need additional software to use it with skype. the software that comes with the icecam was installed successfully but the computer (ibook G3 500MHz 620RAM) does not recognize the camera. I opened skype to check, it didn't see the plugged icecam either.... I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it.. nothing!... Any ideas???

I am having the same problem, got the camera for the same reason (skype) and can't get it to be recognized by my G5. And on the ice cam website the downloads page shows up blank.

For Christmas, I got the Macally IceCam. I was extremely excited to hook it up, however the people I knew I could try it with didn't hook theirs up yet. Yesterday, my friend, Jess, got a laptop, and her laptop already had a webcam in it, so we decided to try it. The DVD thing that came with the webcam didn't work, so I downloaded WindowsLive to see if it would work there. It said it couldn't find my webcam. Do you know how I can set this up? Thanks for your time.

I have just bough a macally ice cam and my computer will not recognize it I have down loaded the driver or macOSX from the Macally website but it is a sit file and i can't open it is just scrambled letters!

I have the same as above, driver down SN9C102 WebCam Driver OSX 1.0 loaded and ejected

web cam monitor comes up blank, or just the gray heading monitor with a little white stripe under it.

i plug in the webcam and it says there is no camera atached on imovie. i have a ibook G4.

Hello all, we supply Macally Icecams through our company and have done so for many years.
The camera works absolutely fine with Skype.
Unfortunately Skype do not make it easy for people to understand how, so we wrote a user friendly blog about it and it can be viewed here:

IceCam2 video is very dark

The manufacturer does not list this cam as compatible with Skype. However you can try adjusting it with the Skype settings.

Are you running OSX 10.4? Not supported yet...

ICECAM install problem

You may try to find out where the fault is, one thing to know is use another the same driver and install it on your PC. If it installed then your previous driver is faulty, if it poses the same problem you have the problem on your PC. Try first using another same driver.

How to install an icecam 2 in a Mac G4 with 1.1 USB port

If you want to use the camera with iChat you will need the third party software called iUSBcam found here: http://www.ecamm.com/mac/iusbcam/

Side note, I have yet to get this camera to work in OSX 10.3.9, so tread lightly.

Icecam not recognized

you need to set your cam up Skype

Go to TOOLS, then OPTIONS, and click on AudioSettings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
Then click on the Video Settings.
The camera if installed properly will come up and show a picture.
Then on the bottom of the page click on Save.

Having trouble with Icecam 2 set up?

windows often has MSN runnin in some form in the background, this is usually not a problem, unless you are trying to use a different Chat app as MSN will grab your webcam :S

Problem with macally icecam

1. You can open only one video application at a time, therefore, you need to quit ALL the application first, then open the one application you want to use. such as YIM or Skype.

2. Please open the iceCam Monitor, go to Monitor tab, check the "Record Video" and select "Record Until MouseClick".
A new Save window will pop up, set up the filename and location and click SAVE button.
Once you click the mouse button, it will save the recorded video as QuickTime Movie clip format file on the selected location.
If you want a picture, you could run the video and pause it and make a screen shot to grab the picture from the video.
