I have to reset my datamax i4208 every time I print. I cannot do more than one print job at a time. Help.

I need more information. What system are you using to drive the printer with? If it is a Windows computer it is almost certain to be a faulty/outdated driver.

Double sided copies

Your printer has Duplex printing Capabilities. However when you are ready to send the print job, open the Printer Properties and select Double Sided.

To copy a Double sided document, insert it in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) and open the copy settings on the machine and select Double sided.

Print Black images with any color piece (ex. page with black text and one red letter in up-right corner) 40-50 pages in one job.
Are you see a double black image?

It says it's ofline

Once you have added either a USB or networked printer to your PC or Mac computer, you can begin sending documents to print. However, on occasion, a print command will create an error on the printer and take it offline, which will prevent all future jobs from printing. To resolve this issue, you will need to change your printer settings from offline to online.PC Instructions
Open the Start menu and click on the "Printers and Faxes" icon. This will open a window with a list of the printers currently set up on your computer.Double-click on the icon of the printer you want to change to online. A pop-up window detailing all current print jobs will open.Go to Printer in the menu bar of the pop-up window and uncheck "Use Printer Offline." This action will change the printer from offline to online.

If you are getting a "shadow" behind the text or image it is probably your fuser that is causing the problem. Anytime you see a double image or the print is smearing the fuser (aka fixing assembly) is to blame. You can troubleshoot the problem to see for sure before calling out a technician. Send a one page test print job to the printer. Open the rear "output" tray so that the print job exits the rear of the printer. Watch the paper as it is pulled into the machine. When you see the leading edge of the print exiting the printer open up the front door of the printer. This will of course cause the machine to jam up but its worth it. Carefully remove the toner cartridge. Look at the print on the page still inside the machine. Do you see the same grey image? If not then the problem is the fuser. If you do see the grey image then the problem is the toner cartridge. Stopping the print job in the middle of the printer like that allows you to see what the image looks like before it goes into the fuser. If the fuser is the problem call a tech. It is about a $100 - 150 repair for the fuser depending on the labor rates where you live.

Sent too many labels to printer - need to reset

As the previous expert has stated, with the printer paused, press the cancel key to cancel the job. One thing to note, is depending on how your software sends the print jobs, you may say print 1000 labels, but the software sends it one at a time, so basically you have 1000 print jobs in the printer. If you pause the printer, press and hold the cancel key. Hold it for about 2 mins. This should clear the buffer.

Double image is printed on one page, overlapped on Brother 7225

It sounds like a piece of paper is wrapped around the fuser roller. Look in the rear of the machine with a flashlight.

I have (4) documents to print, but it won't print. It says: 4 document(s) pending owner

To cancel a print job in Windows you can use one of the following two methods:

CANCELLING A PRINT JOB WITH THE PROGRESS METER:
When you send a print job to the printer, the Status Monitor will appear in the bottom right corner of your screen. Another printer icon for the PROGRESS METER will also appear in the taskbar while printing is taking place. This PROGRESS METER is there so you can manage print priorities or cancel print jobs.

1. Highlight the print job in the PROGRESS METER box.
2. Click on DOCUMENT and CANCEL, or, right click on the job name and left click CANCEL or DELETE.
3. Confirm cancelling the print job.

CANCELLING A PRINT JOB FROM THE PRINTERS WINDOW:
If no PROGRESS METER appears, you can access the document queue in this fashion:

1. Open START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL, PRINTERS (START, CONTROL PANEL, PRINTERS and FAXES in Windows XP).
2. Right click on your Epson printer name, left click PURGE PRINT JOBS (98,ME), or CANCEL ALL DOCUMENTS (2000,XP). (Or, double-click on the printer name to see and modify the status of documents in queue.)
3. Confirm cancelling all documents.

Keep in mind that once information has been sent to the printer it resides in the spooling folders within Windows. It may a while for printing to stop as this data clears the system.

If the printer continues to print (ie multiple copies of a cancelled job, or garbled print) remove the rest of the paper from the printer and allow it to run out. Once an "out of paper" type error appears on your screen, cancel the documents. Once all print job information has deleted, reload the paper and press the paper feed button once to clear the red light and return the printer to a ready state.
