when i delete my messages and turn my phone off, when i turn it back on again they come back.  and when i have not enough storage i cant send messages either.

I do exactly what is described (even after updating my software via Verizon). When I try "delete all" on the inbox, the phone asks me if I really want to do this and I say yes. Then after a few seconds it completes and then when I go into the Inbox, the phone locks up. I have to remove the battery and reboot. Once the phone reboots, all the text messages in the Inbox are still there.

i keep deleting/clearing text messages, click yes on the do-you-want-to-delete-permanently button, and they always come back. my phone space is gone. functionality is reduced. it just won't permanently delete messages. how do i fix this?

Exact same problem. I'm really starting to hate this phone. I haven't been able to send texts lately and it tells me my memory is almost full and to delete items. So I go to delete some of the thousands of old text messages, then I do the permanent delete, and as soon as I turn the phone off and turn it back on, everything I deleted is back and I still can't text. I can't do a manual update for some reason, even though I follow Sprint's exact instructions for it, and when I installed the software to update it through my computer, it gives me an error message while it's supposed to be downloading. The delete all feature doesn't work because as soon as the phone's turned off, they all come back. Any ideas? I'm beginning to think the phone is actually defective.

Should also just be able to select Menu->Folders, get on the folder you want cleared, click Menu->Delete All. If you don't have items in that folder you will see Delete All but you won't be able to select it.

I had the exact same problem. i basically updated my phone's software (this is for verizon wireless users) by dialing *228, press option 1 to update the software. after that, i was able to delete the messages in the folders like normal.

How to delete multiple text messages on a Samsung Intensity

On many mobile phones, you only have two options for deleting text messages: deleting one message at a time, or deleting a whole folder at a time. However, the Samsung Intensity (among other phones) gives you the option to delete multiple text messages at once without deleting an entire folder. You just have to know how to do it.

Go into the Messaging menu, either by pressing the upper left option button or by going into the main menu and selecting Messaging (option #2). Select your inbox, then press the upper right option button (Options). Select #9, Msgs View by Contact. The text messages in your inbox are now grouped according to who sent them.

From this view, you can delete multiple text messages at once. Press the upper right option button again and select choice #2, Erase Multiple. Now as your messages are displayed, there is an empty box next to each one. Scroll down through the list and select the messages you want to delete by pressing the center of the directional pad. A check will appear next to that message. To uncheck a message, repeat the same process.

The only messages you won't be able to delete are messages that you've previously marked as locked. If you want to delete a locked message, you'll have to unlock it first, then delete it.

Once you've put a check next to all of the messages that you want to delete, click the upper left option button (Done) and you'll see a confirmation message. Choose whether you want to delete all of the checked messages or only the unread ones, and then click the directional button (OK). The messages you selected will be deleted.

To resume having your messages displayed in chronological order, click the upper right option button and choose option #4, Msgs View by Time.

Is there a way you can get deleted text message from your phone that you can download on your computer for free

Deleting information from a phone is normally permanent. The exception would be if you text message section has different folders including a trash folder. This isn't very common, but if you have this you will find your deleted message there. Other wise I'm afraid you're out of luck. Sorry.

Best of luck to you mate!

Have nice day..

My phone nokia N70 will register "memory is full, delete some items" whenever I access the message folder even if the folder is now empty.

The problem is that your inbox might have become full due to messages and received files via bluetooth..
try deleting some received files or clear all messages inside your inbox to free up memory on your phone..

It tells me I have insufficiant memory storage I have deleted txt messages ringtones drafts etc. I have a memory card but it just holds my pictures. It has made me stop recieving text messages and is...

I had the same problem so I called AT&T and they solved the problem!!

1. Click 'Start'
2. Click 'Messaging'
3. Click 'Messages'
You should be in the screen where it shows all your text messages, not just one. If not, click the 'go back' key until you see the list of all your text messages.
4. Click 'Menu'
5. Choose 'Folders'
Your screen should be showing Deleted Items, Drafts, Inbox, Outbox and Sent Items folders.
6. Click 'Drafts' folder
7. Click 'Menu'
8. Choose 'Delete All'
After it has finished deleting, your screen should say To create a new message, etc.....
9. Click 'Menu' again
10. Choose 'Folders' again
11. Click 'Inbox'
12. Click 'Menu'
13. Choose 'Delete All' When its finished deleting it should say 'To create a new message, etc.....'
14. Repeat steps 9-13 for the Outbox and Sent Items folders as well.
15. Once you are SURE you have deleted all your messages in all the folders, click 'Menu', choose 'Folders', and choose the 'Deleted Items' folder
16. Once in the 'Deleted Items' folder, click 'Menu' and choose 'Delete All'
Since the Propel Pro is run by Windows, it's kind of like emptying the Recycle Bin on a computer. You delete the items and they go to a 'Deleted Items' folder, where you can 'Delete All' of the deleted items. I know it sounds confusing, but that is how you can get your 'Free Storage' back.
Once you've deleted your deleted items, (LoL) you can check your 'free storage' by going to "Settings" .. "More" .. "Memory Info" and the "Storage" (middle/orange folder) should have significantly gone down! I went from 89MB to 17MB!!
I really really hope this helps! Good Luck!!
If you still have storage problems, call 1-800-331-0500 and Dial 0 for customer service then dial 1 for technical support. They should be able to help you step by step! I really hope this helped! Good Luck again!!

Can I delete all my text messages at once on my gs170?

I found that I could clear out 1 folder at a time by selecting (inside the folder): options>mark>mark all then options>delete

Text is stuck in my outbox

I had this same problem. Deleting and clicking "yes" at the warning screen would not remove the message from my outbox and the message kept resending for days.

Solution: In the Outbox, click "Menu" > Empty Deleted Items. Click "yes" at the warning. The message should now be gone from your outbox and your text buddy should now be able to regain sanity.

T-mobile credited back the resent text messages when I called them.

Deleting Texts

The only way i found to fix this problem is to do a hard reset.

In your phone select start > settings > security > master clear

there is a password required to perform this operation: the default is 0-0-0-0 (zero, zero, zero, zero).

Deleting all text messages

have you tried
From your text message screen click MENU then FOLDERS. Highlight the folder you want and click MENU then DELETE ALL to remove even ones saved to the SIM or CLEAR MESSAGES to delete just ones stored on the phone.
also a manual can be download for futher refference if needed .

boot_c_03.08.00r_mpap Paul Sager from FixYa has posted a solution for this problem previousley (as below). I have tried the Motorola and Verizon sites (tried the store as well) and the software is not available to flash the phone. Do you know of a site that would still have it available? Or can this question be sent to Paul to further comment on it? All I want to do is recover the phone numbers, notes and calandar from the phone via Activesync or Windows. Paul Sager 2335 Solutions July 14, 2010 I can help you with your Motorola Moto Q. What has happened is that the firmware of your phone has become corrupted. When this happens your phone will no longer finish its boot sequence. This is a very common situation with many phones: in fact, much of what I do here at Fixya is explain how people can fix their MP3 players, GPS and phones by reflashing the firmware. The good news is that if you take your phone into your carrier's store, they can reflash it for you right there (if they have a competent tech handy.) If you are comfortable with computers etc, you can also do it yourself. Your computer will communicate with and fix your phone, even though it doesn't seem to recognize it right now - I've seen this many many times. My only warning for you is that if you are going to flash your phone yourself, you need to get the correct firmware from motorola's site for your carrier. I just downloaded the Verizon firmware as an example - Motorola's website has about ten different carrier firmwares for their MotoQ phone. I hope that helps.
