WII shuts down when power or eject is pressed

I have a chipped WII and when I plug in the game the power light lights red , if I press either the power or the eject button the power button lights green and the blue light around the disc light up momentarilly and then the whole unit powers off. I have a game in the drive now I think its Boogie. Any help is welcome, I am in Denver Co.I have tried to let it set for a while and retried, that did not work. I also tried to plug in and press eject at the same time to try and remove the disc and that did not work either.

Depending on the chip and who installed it, it is probably shorting out something in your system. Even if the system was working before, it might have shifted or come loose. If it is only shorting your power switch then it would just be a simple adjustment of the chip. However, the chip could have shorted out your main board and when the system powers on, it detects the short and shuts itself off as a fail-safe. Removing the chip *might* fix it if it didn't totally fry the system.

Wii has solid red light, won't turn on, faint ticking noise

if it was dropped check the bluetooth module , they can come unplugged and the wii will not function. Children love to put change in the wii which can short it out. Never bridge a fuse as it can cause unsafe conditions and potentially a fire hazard .

Try pressing the power button down and holding it for a few seconds and see if your WII comes back to life. When I first got my Wii I would hold down the button just long enough for it to turn green. This seems like a standby mode. To get my Wii to turn off completly I needed to hold down
the button until it turned red and when restarting the WII I held doen the button until the Wii started back up.

Power light is green or orange - TV screen is blank
If the power light is green or orange and your screen remains blank, follow these steps.
    1. Completely power down your system by pressing the power button for 10 seconds. If that doesn't work, unplug the AC Adapter from the Wii for a moment, then plug it back in.
    2. Make sure your Wii console has the most current Wii system menu. Download the latest update (how to), and then test your Wii console to determine if the problem has been resolved.
If you continue to experience this issue, there is a problem with the Wii console and it will need to be repaired.

My ps3 shut down in the middle of game play. Then when I tried turning it pack on, this is what happens... The power light flashes until I touch the power button, then it goes solid red. That means it's...

It seems that your unit may have overheated while you were playing that game, that yellow like you are talking about is the 360's Red Ring of Death. Try this, eject the HDD and let it cool off for about 24 hours. Don't put it in the refrigerator or anything, just let it cool off. Tomorrow, pop it back in and make sure there's nothing covering the air vents. Dust, Paper, a Blu-Ray Player, Home Theater Box, a Wii, a 360, anything.
If it's still doing it tomorrow, call SCEA (1-800-345-7669)

Wii standby light

To be precise, you can turn this option off from the Wii System settings -> Wii Connect 24 -> standby connection -> off

When this setting is swiched to off, your console shuts down entirely and there is a RED light on the power button. There will be no need to turn off the console pressing the power button.
