All laptops have a CMOS, or "Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor," battery.
The main purpose for the CMOS battery is to keep the system time, date and BIOS settings even if the computer is turned off or the main battery dies.
Individual Acer Aspire laptop models differ somewhat, but the general steps are the same when replacing a dead CMOS battery.Preparation

Read through the owner's manual for your particular Acer Aspire laptop to determine what kind of CMOS battery you need.
Purchase the battery through Acer or a local or online computer parts dealer.
Turn the laptop off and unplug it.
Also unplug any external hard drives, cameras or other external devices.
Turn the laptop over (bottom facing up), then touch something metal to remove static charge.
Removal
Remove the Phillips screws that secure the motherboard cover (refer to your owner's manual if necessary), then release the cover from the clips on the bottom of the plastic casing.
Lay the cover aside, then locate the CMOS battery cable on the right side of the motherboard. Unplug the cable, then remove the battery.
Installation
Plug the new CMOS battery cable into the motherboard.
Slide the battery partially under the laptop casing to hold it in place, then align the cover with the slots on the bottom of the laptop housing.
Replace the screws, then turn the laptop back over.
Settings
Plug the laptop in and turn it on.
Enter your BIOS (usually by pressing "F1," "F2," F10" or the "Delete" key) before the operating system loads.
Follow the BIOS prompts or refer to your Acer Aspire owner's manual to reset your time, date and desired system settings.
BIOS Reset
Any time the CMOS battery is unplugged for more than a few seconds, your BIOS will be reset to the default manufacturer settings.
If you make any changes to the BIOS that cause problems with your Acer Aspire, unplug the CMOS battery for 3-5 seconds to correct the problem.

Hi mate, try removing all power sources, i.e. main power lead, main battery, bios battery, then press the power button for about 10 seconds to remove any residual charge on the motherboard. Apologies if you have already done this. If not update and flash to new bios... download here for your OS...

HOW TO RESET BIOS PASSWORDS

Hello my friends, here i am. Today i am going to explain few tricks how to reset bios passwords, sometimes you forgot the password or some of your friends, coworkers, or family member set a password for BIOS (not system) and you forget or do not know it, it is a basic idea how to solve the problem. Find a jumper to reset the Bios on the motherboard, or remove the batery of the board,( not the lapatop batery if this is your case) First use common sense, somethimes put passwords like NAMES, PET NAMES, or THEIR BIRTHDAY DATE, if this not work try BACKDOOR passwords for your specific bios, google (I am googler fanatic) for all information posssible for your SYSYEM, SPECIFICATIONS, BIOS, Some of this will help you, Find manufacturer information and Download BIOS from the manufacturer, (OF SYSTEM, MOTHERBOARD and from MANUFACTURER OF THE CHIP BIOS.Preferable in DOS versions, they will boot right away in your computer, but you have to be informed in the steps to follow to FLASH your BIOS, Google for PDF files for tour SYSTEM, MOTHERBOARD and BIOS MANUFACTURER, understand the process to follow.THIS applies to any system, laptop or desktop. this is the safe way, BUT if this not work try the DANGEROUS WAY. HACK it, RESET it, FLASH IT, CRACK IT, BACK up IT, or simply remove the chip of the motherboard and put a new one, SOmetimes people crazy think that if you put the system of and no battery, inside of extreme temperatures will erase the bios, it is NOT TRUE. If you have no luck we will try to find a way.ALWAYS

Where is the CMOS battery located?

On most desktops, it will be located on the motherboard, sitting in a slot socket. These batteries look like nickels and sit in the socket with their positive side up. They are usually held in place by a tension spring.

If you have a laptop, then the battery maybe accessible through an access door on the bottom of the case. These batteries can also be a disc type battery sitting in a slot or it can have a special covering with a small cable attached to it, this small plug attaches into a socket. In some cases, the laptop has to be disassembled in order to remove or observe the battery.

I remove the batery for a few minutes and now My pc don't boot...

If you removed the CMOS battery, you have reset the bios.
You may now need to enter the BIOS and change bootable drive order, and maybe enable your hard drive as a bootable drive

I have a problem with my motherboard K8U-X.The problem is on the bios. When I start my PC he write a masage that missing something and when I get out the batery start and go to bios to configure and save...

You should be able to get to bios with battery installed (I assume you mean motherboard battery) otherwise changes can't be saved. Usually it is by tapping the "del" key during start-up. If that doesn't get to bios try "F1", "F2" or F10" upon start up.
