SOURCE: bridging to 12 inch kicker competition subs to my 1000 watt alpine 4 channel amp

I'm a bit confused. For Alpine amps, the "M" prefix is for monoblock (aka single channel) amps and the "F" prefix is for multichannel amps. The only M550 I find is an MRD-M550, which is a monoblock, not a 4 channel like you say.
Unfortunately, I can't give you accurate help until we know weather it's truly 1 channel or 4 channel. Then I'll be glad to help!

SOURCE: Kicker sub wont work

Im guessing that it is possibly blown... either you ran too much power to it, or it was hooked up wrong... you should unscrew the sub from the box and look inside to make sure that it is connected correctly.... positive to positive, negative to negative,,, if they so much as touched then the L7 could very well be blown.... smell the magnet and if you smell a burnt smell... it is blown... maybe turn your amp down a little... its possible that it is also in protect mode because you are running too many watts to the amp. Feel free to ask if you have any other questions.... Please rate! :D And good luck... i really hope its not burnt out. that stuff is not cheap.

SOURCE: how to wire a 2400w amp to 3 12s subs

if the amp is a 2 channel, u could either bridge them all, or if you wanted to, you could hook 2 speakers to the two seperate channels, and then hook the other one to the negative on one channel and the possitive on the other. if this wasnt what you meant, just, try to tell me more about the amp... thanks

SOURCE: only one voice coil is working on my L7 10

If the tinsil wires all look good then chances are you broke a lead in the coil, the only way I know of to fix this is to order new voice coils and a new spider and replace them..

There are places on the web to order parts, you just need to take good measurments of the parts and relay them to the stores.

Which way to run my current setup? Help!!

Put the kickers with the xplode 1 per channel giving each sub around 450-500 watts. Make sure you select a good ground connection, use think copper wire and both connections must be tightened enough to not move. 10 gauge is good. Run think battery pos+ cable wire from your battery to your apps install spot. Have a fusible link in between the battery and amp. Dont run your speaker wire or rca amp cable with your pos+ wire or it will pick up current causing a high pitched tone. Run remote connection to blue wire on radio harness or to the fuse box ign. Label. Make sure them kickers have a tight seal, and adequate air space. Ported boxes do hit harder but i prefer all sealed myself. Face subs to back of vehicle and roll windows down 15 percent. Good Luck. Holler Back

I have 2 12 inch kicker rt dual 2 ohm subs. On a kicker cx1200.1 i want to kno how to hook it up to 2ohm to the amp. And if i can add another 10 inch kicker rt 2ohm sub in the future.

Do to the impedance Of your sub u can't run it @2ohms its going to either be @1ohm or 4ohms and your amp isn't 1ohm stable and u will risk damaging your amp. So your only option is to run it @4ohms and on a good note your sub is 100-600 watts RMS and your amp will push 400-500 watts RMS @4ohms. Now if you want to run 2 sub's in the future That amp will work perfect because it pushes 1,200watts RMS @2ohms and to wire your 2 sub's @1ohm just follow the steps in the image below. Hope this helped.25345194-v0hbouy2nvquqteoroa5j5rq-3-0.png

So I have the first kickers that came out the 15 will a 800 watt amp push um without eather blowin out

If you are referring to the Kicker L5 solo-baric subwoofer, then an 800 watt peak amp will not blow even one of those subs. The L5 is capable of handling 1000 watts peak and 500 wrms. An 800 watt peak amp will usually have around 400 wrms. Underpowering the subwoofer will not hurt the amp or the sub(s).

Got jl300/2 amp confused which subwoofer sounds good

Hello drsubhakar26,

JL W6's will perform well with from 150-600 watts RMS. W7's with from 150-500 watts. Less expensive Alpine Type R's work OK with from 200-500 watts RMS. Either of the brands will sound good. None of them will perform to their full potential with 300 watts RMS. Powering any sub with a 2-channel amp is a compromise. A monoblock is more efficient.

Hope this helps.

Yes i was wondering what would be the best way to wire my system. i have to kicker L5 4 ohm 10in subs and one kicker 1000 watt mano amp. what wolud be the way to get the best bass out as possible.

Hello eaglepower_2,

Well, to get the maximum power from the amp, you really need a 2ω load. Unfortunately, you cannot get that from 2 L5's with 4ω voice coils. You can get either 1ω which will burn your amp up, or you can get 4ω, and your amp will put about 500 watts RMS into that load.

To get the most from your amp, you really needed the L5's with 2ω voice coils. That way, you could run the voice coils in series and the subs in parallel, resulting in a 2ω load, exactly what your amp likes. If you can exchange them for the 2ω model, I would.

Here's the link to Kicker's manual for the ZX-1000.

Kickers dont beat like they should

try to check and clean the wiring as clean as possible to avoid messing up on your connection. Check the polarity of you subs to yuor amp if you have it connected on the outher way around it would not give you a good result. check the polarity this will solve your problem. Over powering your sub will fry it easily try to tune it a 10" sub wont give you a 15" performance..
