Password help My mother purchased an acer Aspire 3680 laptop and set it up herself...problem is...she forgot the main password to log on and now she can't use this new laptop. How do you release or change the log on password?

Thank you for your help... it worked but had to use Alt + F10 to recover the laptop to factory settings. I didn't loose any data because she only signed in long enough to set a password, then she forgot it. :) Thank you for your help once again. I bought a New Acer Aspire 5520 laptop. In trying to create a password it look like I accidentally punch a wrong key while setting the password without knowing. my father bought a second hand laptop from canada . when i started it ask for a password means somebody made the password and gives hint as white . i tried a lot but password doesnt open. my father also not got any password so there is no use without password.what should i do ??

we have the same problem a forgotten BIOS password. I tried to open the laptop itself but it seems that if I continue, I might not be able to get it back in one piece. You are my only hope! thanks a lot in advance
