How would anyone know what problems the car has? You bought a vehicle you know nothing about, the previous owner did something to the car that wasn't there when it was made & your asking about a fire etc Don't see how you would expect someone to help you at all You need to get rid of the add ons & use a wirng diagram to return the car to as built condition

SOURCE: 1998 mitsubishi mirage wont start?

check if the fuel pump is working, if you have someone near the tank and someone else crank motor you should be able to hear a bzzzzzz rom the tank from the pump. if no noise is heard then hit or thump the tank, this can make a fuel pump start to work again, if it starts, then the pump is almost dead

SOURCE: someone took fuses in fuse box under hood and we

yes - there should be a fuse diagram inside the cover and in the owners manual - more than likely you will need ALL of them to start & drive the car

SOURCE: 1998 cavalier wont start no spark

If you have no spark try the ignition module, it controls the spark and if you don't have any and the coil is new its the only other option short of wiring or ecu!!

I had to replace my alt.on my 93 ford festiva abd when i hit the wire to the frame it sparked so I disconnected the battery cable, but when I hooked the cable back up the fusible link cought fire, I blew...

Pull the remnants of the fusible link out with a small pair of pliers. The ends are a standard blade type plug. Replace the link with a 40 amp cartridge type fuse. The "long leg" type is plug and play. You probably just stressed the fusible link meaning it did its job. My bet is that you pop in the cartridge fuse and you will be good to go. I run these in all of my festivas. So do hundreds of people on fordfestiva.com. It is THE place for all things festiva. There are thousands of knowledgable helpful members there. My fans were directly conected to my battery and i had 2 switches on the inside and i went to turn my fans on and all the wiring cought on fire im trying to find a junkyard with the part but no luck.please...

Just rewire the Fan moters & circuit path .Use correct gage wire & put a fusible link in the circuit path this time better yet wire it to the fuse block just like the day it rolled off the assembly line or try pick a part auto salvage

I have a 97 cougerxr7 booster cables were attatched wrong and now when cables are disconnected car stalls

It sounds like the voltage regulator or diodes in the alternator may have been damaged when the booster cables were hooked up backwards. You may have an internal regulator (inside the alternator) or an external one mounted on the fire wall or fender or radiator support (3"X3" square box with 3 or 4 wires connected to it.

Battery needed a charge, it was jumped with cables hooked up wrong, bought new battery but wont start what is problem

if you connected the jumper leads up wrongly you have most likely put 24 volts into the system instead of 12 volts & damaged all of the electric components including the computer, you will need to consult an auto electrician to sort out the problem.....hope this helps.....cheers
