I had this tevion t1413 tv, while i was going through the menu on the screen, i saw something like key lock which i thought to setup, but i could not complete the process and i switched off.
When i turned it on later, it was only asking me for a key lock which i do not even know and i fiddled with different keys but it won't open. could any one just tell me how to disable this this or unlock it.
Thanks in anticipation .

I would think this shows the child lock has been activated therefore the manual buttons will not work. There will either be a "key" symbo; button on the remote control to turn it off or you will have to go into the on screen menu to toggle off the lock. Without knowing the specfic make & model of TV, then I can't be more precise to let you know exactly where the child lock function will be.
Definitely, there is some keypad failure. There is a continuous contact anyone of the key. Since key is contiunuosly giving command to the processor Remote function is automatically cutoff. My simle Tips to find out key failure. Good key give "Tick" sound when you press the key softly. The sound is very very low, you have to observe carefully. Otherwise blindly change all the front panel key. Cost is very very low. When the keypad problem is solved, remote will function automatically.
Apex TVs use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The override code for many models is 6688. Other sets may not have one, or may have a default code of 1225 instead of an override code.
To use the override code:
Hit the MENU key to get to the menus.
Go down to the SYSTEM menu and hit the right arrow on the remote control.
Once in the SYSTEM menu, go to PARENTAL GUIDE. It will ask for your code.
Enter the override code listed above. From here, you can turn on and off different rating restrictions, as well as set a new code.
No matter what the V-chip code is set to, the override code will still work. If you have a blank screen with a red key on the bottom left, simply press the function or F button and the mute button at the same time. This will unlock the screen and allow you to view the channel as desired
This sounds like a input problem. The source of the signal may not be well matched to the expected input spec. To test, see if the "SETUP" menu items are clear. If so it is something to do with a cable, connector, or configuration of the source.
Hello, I have had my TV for 3-4 years and have dealt with this stupid guide popping up for the last 2 when I got curious to see if it was something I wanted to use. FINALLY I came across a solution - so far so good but tomorrow it could be back? I did not have the option field some suggested to use. So saw another suggestion for something else and so far so good. When going into the setup guide. Select the USA, place all 0's in the zip code area and NO for everything else.... no VCR no cable, etc.
Hope this helps..
I also was able to do this without the remote - IF you can get the menu to pop up you just have to use the numbers to select what you need. Found the remote and saw nothing different as far as menu options. Good luck.
