Question about AEG Lavamat 72640 Front Load Washer

Washing machine AEG 72620 not functioning.

I put in a wash as normal, and only realized there was a problem as there was a noise of clicking on the right side, top part of the washing powder drawer which I then took it out and noticed when you take it out it is more loud, and there was no water coming through although it had sounded like the water was going to come through when it was started but realized that it is only the sound. I have cleaned and washed the black coloured pipe and screw top at the bottom of the washing machine. PLEASE HELP!!

You are absolutely correct there,my husband has positioned the lever to the correct position and removed the white free wheel so we can still carry on washing, without having to worry about the wheels getting stuck. We will order the part and change it so yet again PLEASE HELP!!! letting me know where to order the part--the company?
    Much appreciated.

Hi...was having the same problem but mine looks as though it isn't working because some of the teeth on the pink cog are broken...can I just buy a cog? and is there a special layout I need to follow when putting the 3 cogs back together?

    Many thanks

    Hello,

I have identical problem to meenabix posted on 14th November.

How much do I need to purchase, just the cogs or the whole unit. Are the cogs an integral part of the unit ?

Also, where would I get it from.

    Many thanks in advance.

Having worked for AEG for over ten years, the fault is a faulty dispenser unit ( top of soap draw) only fix is to replace the unit ( cost approx £45)

It sound like a detergent dispenser issue. The dispenser is located above the detergent drawer. A water pipe is connected to it and water entrance and distributed to drawer's cells (following the programmed cycle) by a lever's movement (part of the dispenser). The lever movement is controlled by two solenoids that received their power from the timer. By opening upper machine's cover you will have an access to the dispenser. Disconnect the power cable from the machine before moving to next test !!!! Look first that they are not any disconnected wires. Move manually dispenser's lever and see if water running to all cells (depend on your movement). In case it doesn't work properly remove the unit from the machine and try to clean it (I hope it will help, otherwise you should replace the unit). In case it works properly (manually) - you should test by a multi-tester solenoid's resistance. the one that doesn't have a resistance measurement should be replaced. Good luck !!

Noisey AEG washing machine.

Hmm, could possibly be a relay or transformer going bad. Control panels are usually easy to remove, see if you can locate the noise. If it sounds like it is speed related to the drum turning you could have a more expensive problem related to a motor inverter if it has variable speed controls.

AEG Lavamat 72620 door does not open

It seems that your problem is with the lid switch and it should be replaced. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. You have to raise the top of the washer to get to the switch. Good luck!
