Check the door switch and also the push to start button. Timers will advance even if the unit is not on

SOURCE: whirlpool dryer won't start

It sounds like you have lost a leg of power. Turn off both breakers, then back on. Then check the receptacle, the plug and then the wiring to the back of the dryer. This is likely where it is. There is a thermal fuse located under the top of the dryer. Easy to get to. Bypass it and if it works then, just replace it for about 15 dollars.

The drive belt has broken. Copy the model and serial numbers and go to an appliance parts store for a replacement. You will have to pop the top off by inserting a putty knife in the front corners to release the clips, and depending on how you dryer was built, remove the front or the back panel. Slip the new belt over the drum, move the belt tensioner to the side, then loop the end over the motor pulley.

probably has a broken belt, there is what is called a "Broken Belt" switch by the motor inside on the idler pulley tensioner for the belt,if the belt breaks this switch opens so the dryer wont run without the drum turning so as not to overheat and burn your clothes, replace the drum belt and you should be good to go

Our Whirlpool gas dryer, Model # LDI5701W1 stopped working in the middle of a cycle. Power supply is fine. With door closed, I can't hear the timer humming. Could it be a door switch, timer,?

it maybe but here is a website that shows how to test them, it may be a loose or broken wire, a reset button on the motor, or other things:

Whirlpool dryer will not start, used to start if I turned timer

whirlpool electric dryer will not start when you push start button. Model No. LER5634AW0. There is power to the dryer. The door switch appears to be working,(didn't check it with a meter). I push the start button, run it through all the cycles and still nothing. Are there any resets or circuit breakers that I could check? Where do I go from here?

Whirlpool LEQ8000JQ - My timer ticks but the dryer will not run when start button is push.

More specifically, the timer can be heard running, starts and stops when door is closed/opened, so not likely to be the timer. You have a problem at the motor. A wire off a terminal, the switch on the motor, or the motor itself.

Dryer wont start - no lights

Dryer door does not think it is closed. There is a sensor on the top of the door that is probably not making contact with the door. Trying pushing the top part of the door and holding it then press the start button.. if the unit starts running then you know what it is. I just had one of these dryers delivered today and had to find out about this by myself tonight!!
