There is power to the dryer. I hear the timer running. the door is closed all the way. push the start button but nothing happens.

It sounds like you have lost a leg of power. Turn off both breakers, then back on. Then check the receptacle, the plug and then the wiring to the back of the dryer. This is likely where it is. There is a thermal fuse located under the top of the dryer. Easy to get to. Bypass it and if it works then, just replace it for about 15 dollars.

The drive belt has broken. Copy the model and serial numbers and go to an appliance parts store for a replacement. You will have to pop the top off by inserting a putty knife in the front corners to release the clips, and depending on how you dryer was built, remove the front or the back panel. Slip the new belt over the drum, move the belt tensioner to the side, then loop the end over the motor pulley.
