Green screen

1.) Press and hold down the "Menu" key until the manufacturer's logo appears on the screen. This could take up to a minute or more. Release the "Menu" key when the logo appears.
2.) Immediately press the "9," "8," "7" and "6" keys in this order. Press the "Enter" button on the remote to enter the "Service Menu" screen.
3.) Press the "Menu" button to go to the second of the two "Service Menu" screens. Press down on the "Down" arrow until you highlight "Color Calibration." Press the "Enter" button to enter the "Color Calibration" screen.
4.) Select one of the color bars on the screen. Adjust the color by changing the values of the color bar by pressing left and right on the "left" and "right" arrows on the remote. Repeat this procedure with the other color bars as well. Stop adjusting the colors when the green cast is no longer present.
5.) Press and hold the "Power" button on the remote to exit the "Service Menu" and save the adjustments you have made.
Now turn the T.V. off. When you turn it back on it should reflect your personal preference.

I am getting an animated message which is a picture of the tomtom with a blue SD card coming out of it then a no waiting sign appears. Also, when using the TomTom computer package on my mac it keeps...

It doesn't look good. It could be that the unit has been formatted accidentally, the SD card has become corrupted or the reader damaged.

If it is a config problem, the unit can be reset to factory settings.

To reset your TomTom device, do the following:
  • Check that the battery is charged properly. Charge your device for at least 2 hours before trying to turn it on again.
  • Reset your navigation device. Press and hold the On/Off button until you hear the drum sounds and the device restarts. This can take 30 seconds or more.
You can read more about it at tomtom's support site:

How do I change the battery on a tomtom go 530

Replacing the TomTom Go 530's battery is actually not all that hard as this video demonstrates:
The company that produced the video sells a kit which includes the battery and tools necessary to do this yourself if you'd like. See: http://www.newpower99.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=TOMTOM+GO+530&Show=ExtInfo I swapped the battery of a friend's dying GPS using the aforementioned kit and all went well. His Go 530 is back up and running smoothly.
Hope this Helps, aaron

Text message

  1. Tap Mobile phone in the Main Menu.
  2. Tap Read/Write Message.

4. Tap the message, and tap delete ( should be along the bottom menu bar )

As the unit uses blue tooth, it may also update changes made by the phone itself. Try deleting messages from your phone to see if it will update the change.
