A small thin screw driver usually does the trick. Get under the bottom of the battery and push up and out, the bottom should swing out. Also page 8 in the manual shows an illustration of a battery being installed, just do that in reverse. Manual: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/KXTG2214F.PDF

Batteries won't charge

There are a few reasons why a battery won't charge. Make sure that the contacts on the phone and the charging cradle are clean. (Unplug the base or charger.) A pencil eraser is good initial cleaner; electronic contact cleaner sprays are a second option. Remove the battery and check the contacts inside the handset and the battery as well. Next replace the battery pack. If you add a comment with your phone's model number, then I can try to find the correct battery. (Stores like Battery Mart may have a compatible battery.)

The final possible problem is that the charging system is bad. If your phone has multiple handsets, try a different charger. If the phone allows you to add handsets, try getting a new handset. The new handset will come with a new charger. (I've never seen the chargers sold without the handset but you could try Uniden customer service. If the base station is the only handset cradle, you'll probably need to replace the phone if a new battery and clean contacts don't work.

If your Uniden phone is under warranty, contact the company.

I hope this helps.

My handset reads Low Battery Charge Handset and i put it on the base and it wont charge how do i fix this?

Well.. You may not like my solution.. because I had the same problem with the same phone as you have and everything I did was not successful. WHY you ask??

Because it sounds to me that the rechargable battery itself is either defective, worn out \Or maybe the phone was dropped causing the battery damage, due to the sudden jolt when it hit the floor, as these rechargable batteries are not indistructable??)

I bet if you go toUNIDEN site or the electronic store and replace the rechargable battery, with a BT800/BP800 Battery Pack as what I had to get (but check make/model of the battery pack you already have installed in handset), your phone will continue to operate as if it was new again. I paid about $30- for my battery pack.

Cordless phone does not work

ok i found a solution...

for good measure, unplug everything from the main base, wait a few minutes, then plug everything back in. this never solves the problem, but it's standard troubleshooting procedure.

next, follow the menu instructions on the non-working handset to re-register.

if the re-registration doesn't work, your handset is probably shot. you can buy a reconditioned one on ebay for under $30. take the battery out to find the model #.

AT&T phone model E5634B

SOLUTION to AT&T Cordless Telephone/Answering System 4 phone set Model E5634B - Cannot answer incoming calls nor does caller ID work on phones.
Unplug the base for a few minutes, plug base back in, remove and reinsert the battery on each phone that does not work, then place each handset in the base for few minutes. Worked for me...all 4 phones can be answered and caller ID works!!! Hope this works for you... :o)

Phones won't work

A) Ok first try to disconnect everything and connect all the batteries and cable back. Charge your batteries to full. Then if it still Out of range, do this with all your handsets.
- Disconnect the battery
- Hold the * and # key on the Handset and put the battery back without releasing the buttons. (now your in test mode)
- press the 2 softkey below the screen ( it's a factory reset, erase everything)
- You will see RAM/EEprom erase on the screen
-After the bip press end

B) OK! Now disconnect the power adapter from your base unit .
-Hold the memory button on your base and plug the power adapter at the same time. Then the base will bip to let you know that you done it correctly.
-after the bip press No.1 ( that's mean the handset 1 is de-registrer.
- Now De-register all the other handset by doing the part B again. But only changer the No.1 for 2 then 3 then 4.

C) Disconnect and reconnect everything and use your manual to register your handsets with the base and your done! Everything should be ok !
