Car CD player ER message, then reject ???

All CDs won't play. I get an ER message that says the CD is scratched or dirty, but they aren't. Should I clean the player with one of those kits>

When you get an err message it means that the eye of the cd cannot read the disk. when was the last time you put in a cd cleaner? one that you put into any cd player. you can get one at your local big lots or radio shack or best buy. you need not spend a lot of money for one. or you can try to use a cuetip dipped in alcohol and clean the eye only. dry with another cuetip or soft cloth and see if that solves the problem.

When I try to listen to the cd's, it won't play them. It tries to acknowledge them but the player won't play them

CD players commonly will not recognize some types of CD, eg MP3 recordings, or maybe CD-RW recordings.

However if this is happening with CDs that would previously play OK, then it could be

- scratched or dirty CD surface
- contaminated laser lens in the player
- laser lens has become misaligned

The last 2 need a service technician, but it may be cheaper to buy a new player.

A few things it could be:

No disc has been loaded in the disc magazine.

CDs being used are burned, test using different media or an actual CD.

Very dirty or scratched CDs.

The CDs are upsidedown.

Have you try a Cleaning Disk. Maybe you can use a compress air can (usually sell in pc/electronics stores) and clening up the laser lens. Check for dirty on discs, water drops or scratches. Try another CD

Possibly the laser lens is not reading the cd. check closely to see if it's black. If it is, lens is burnt. ER means error

Cd player keeps going out when i try to play/load/reject get 'error' message

Take out #7 and #31 fuses. Start the vehicle, the radio/cd will not come on. Shut the vehicle off and replace the fuses. Start the vehicle again and you shoud hear the cd player cycling through the cds. Be patient and let it go through the process. Then play/eject/load cds. It worked for me.

Dirty CDs can skip or just stop playing For best results, use a CD cleaning fluid and anti-static cloths made for cleaning CDs. If these tips don't help you might have to buy another copy of your CD, but first try it in another player because some CD players are more sensitive than others to scratches.The last option is to replace the CD Head by taking to a nearest service provider.

Put a CD in and get message that says ER (Error?)...every CD that goes in spins, but does not play.

could be one of 2 things
use a cd lens cleaner to clean the laser lens .
or could be warped or damaged cds and player wont play them
also if they are burnt cd the player may be to old to read them.

CD player won't play CDs burned on new computer

hi penguinxy.
try get a original cds if it works fine.the next time you burn cd try burn at 8x or low may be your cd lens is not detecting cds burnt at high speed.hope this helps..
