Game Mode No remote... can I use another remote to get a button to switch the input to "game mode"?

you cant.
your going to have to get a mid priced universal with extended features. read the packaging. thrift stores sometimes have a bag wall with old remotes so if you have someone who goes to the thrift store sometimes tell them to start looking for either a vcr or tv remote that says emerson on it for you. directv and dish network universals have video input buttons, if you have eith of those providers go to their website, download or find the chapter where it shows how to set up your viseo input. it is shut off by default..

Please try the following:

• With the TV on, press the Menu button which will take you to the main menu
• Then select the "Setup Menu" and press enter
• Select "Game Mode" and press enter
• Select "On" and press enter
• Then press Exit to leave the main menu

These steps should get you going, however if you have trouble please tell me the exact model of your Samsung TV and I can give you further instructions:

I don't know if this can be done with a universal remote, but if you can let me know which brand and model of universal remote you are using, I will check if it is possible. If your universal remote has an "AV", "SOURCE" or "INPUT" button, try these but make sure the game system is switched on so you are able to see if/when you have changed to the correct mode.

If you don't have the original Symphonic remote, you should be able to switch the TV to game mode using the buttons on the front of the TV as follows:

1. Switch the game system on
2. Press the "MENU" button on the front of the TV
3. Highlight "PICTURE" using the CHANNEL UP/DOWN buttons
4. Press the VOLUME UP button once to enter the PICTURE menu
5. Highlight "GAME MODE" using the CHANNEL UP/DOWN buttons
6. Use the VOLUME UP/DOWN buttons to set "GAME MODE" to "ON"
7. Press "MENU" to exit the menu and play games.

The menu should automatically close anyway if you don't press any buttons for about 15 seconds.

When you have finished playing your game, repeat the above steps to set "GAME MODE" back to "OFF" and return to watching TV.

Follow the steps below to switch your TV to game mode without using the remote:

1. Connect the game system to the TV using the AUDIO/VIDEO inputs on the FRONT of the TV.
2. Switch the game system on.
3. Press the "MENU" button on the front of the TV
4. Use the "CH" UP/DOWN buttons on the TV to highlight the "PICTURE" option. This is the first option so should already be highlighted.
5. Press the "VOL UP" button to select this option
6. Use the "CH" UP/DOWN buttons on the TV to highlight the "GAME MODE" option. This is the first option so should already be highlighted.
7. Press the "VOL UP" button to change the GAME MODE setting to "ON"

The TV should automatically switch to GAME MODE if you are using the inputs on the front of the TV.

8. Press "MENU" to exit and play your games.

You can set the Game mode and External input mode at the same time by pressing the GAME button on the remote control. "GAME" appears on the TV screen. To exit the the Game mode and the external input mode, press the GAME button on the remote control again. To cancel GAME mode only, adjust the PICTURE control. The game mode will be set ot 'OFF" automatically. In this case "VIDEO" instead of "GAME" appeares on the TV screen. When you press the GAME button if the TV is off, the TV turns ON and will be in the GAME mode and external input mode automatically.

[USING THE GAME BUTTON]
You may also set the Game mode and external
input mode at the same time by pressing the
GAME button on the remote control. “GAME”
appears on the TV screen.
● To exit the Game mode and external input
mode, press the GAME button on the remote
control again.
● To cancel the Game mode only, adjust the
picture control. The Game mode will be set to

Go to Radio Shack and get an universal remote control, i have a Phillips Universal for mine. it has a tv/vcr button that also is an "input" button to switch channels to do this.

I had this problem on a symphonic 27 inch TV I just bought from a friend who no longer had a remote. The thing with the menu and buttons on the front of the TV doesn't actually change the TV to true game mode. I don't know what it acutally does, but it isn't really in game mode. When it is in true game mode you can't change the channels until you turn the "game mode" off. What I did was bought a universal remote (a specific one that someone told me about) for 8 bucks at walmart and I was then able to switch to game mode with the Input select on the remote. Make sure you look at it before you buy it and make sure it has a button that specifically says "input" on it. not familiar with this model but ill try try in the menu puting it on game mode then look for external input mode in the menu and turn it too dont work fix ur remote or bye a new one (be sure that the new remote will activate the game option) good luck windman
