WE turned the tv on using a remote. The tv just scrolls through the channels, going through all the channels on the guide without stopping. Sometimes the guide page changes, sometimes not. I can turn off the guide, but then the tv just scrolls through the channels on the tv. Would like to be able to watch my tv! Thanks for any help. just now, for no known reason, the tv stopped on one channel, but now I can't get the guid off of the screen. I tried pushing the ok button and the guide button, but no change. It seems to have stopped scrolling when it hit the last channel in the guide this time, channel 55. I pushed channel + and - several times, don't know if this made it stop since it didn't stop right away.
Had the same problem, channels would not stop scrolling.
It was as though someone had there finger on the channel up button.
Disconnected the sixth wire, starting with the black wire on the wiring harness for the front buttons, on/off, ch. up/down, vol. up/down, etc.
It works fine, no more unwanted channel surfing!!

I have just managed to do this. I cannot tell you the code as I had to do it manually, but this is how I did it.
point the remote away from the TiVo and hold down the clear button and the to button until the free light flashed twice.
type in the code 0999 and the light will flash again. Then point the remote at the to and press and hold the channel up button. You will now scroll throw all the codes.
it will take about a minute but eventually the to will go off. When this happens release the channel up button and hold down the green on button to try turn the tv on with the TiVo remote.
if it comes on press ok and this will store the code. If it doesn't come on, use the blaupunkt to remote to turn the tv back on and then keep holding down the channel up button to scroll through more codes. When the to goes off again release the channel up button and try turn it on with the TiVo remote. If it works this time store the code by pressing ok
for me it took two attempts to turn the to on but eventually it worked on the second code
My TV 40RV525U changing channels, menus itself for few months ( I use antenna). my son tried to stop the channel scrolling by enter weird number into the channel to stop it scrolling such as 555, 777.. later, it turn on off by itself and unable to hold on a channel I
call Toshiba customer service and they ask money $25 for
troubleshooting but I denied since I do not want to waste money and
time.
Now, I found how to fix it myself.
In my case, something was wrong with the signal comes from the button control on the left side of the TV. ======================== What I did ======================== unplug the power cord. Remove back cover. Look into the motherboard ( biggest green at the center).
First,
I disconnect a connector on the motherboard come from the IR board that
receive the wireless signal control ( meaning the remote is disable). I turn on the TV, press on Menu button on the TV side. Menu is still scrolling.
I turn off TV, disconnect power cord and connect the IR connector back to the motherboard. I then disconnect the nearby connector that comes from the side control buttons.
Turn on the TV by remote, press menu button on the remote to check. The menu stays.
DONE.
I use electric tape to seal off the connector and let it hanging there. Close the TV back panel
I have been watching TV for 3 nights without menus/channels scrolling. NO AVAILABLE red message when watching DVD is no longer existed.
I've had the same issue! This is caused by the control panel telling the TV what to do - does it change channels on its own, too, or turn off or on on its own?
What you need to do (if you've not already done it) is lock the control panel out, which you can do under the LOCK menu.
What may help is running the factory reset on page 54.
On this set, the volume buttons are the same as the menu button on your remote. The two channel buttons work the same as the scrolling arrows on your remote. It will take some practice, but to turn on the menu, press both volume buttons at once. Then practice using the volume controls to scroll. Once you have the hang of it, you can simply use these four buttons the same way you would have used your remote. If you cannot figure it out on your own, come back here, let me know, and I will sit down and map it out completely for you.
Check to make sure the channel down button is not stuck. If it is not the button is probably defective. Mits has had a lot of problems with the buttons.
some tv's default to channel 2 after being unplugged.since it is a older tv ,the buttons on the remote and the tv maybe worn down.on the tv itself try pushing the buttons down a liitle harder. if you have aux or line in/video inputs, scroll down on the channel button to log into a aux channel for the dvd player.as for the remote try buying a cheap universal remote to see if that works.
good luck
