Question about Canon Pixma iP6210D InkJet Photo Printer

Canon Pixma iP6210D InkJet

I replaced C cartridge only. Now the printer says the cartridge has already been used and to replace it. Does not allow me to go through maintenance options like nozzle cleaning or alignment. I can on the printer itself. Any ideas?

I replaced both inks and it will not do anything. This is the second time, the first time I used cheap refills. Ive had other cannon printers with no problem, but this is costing to much.

I have reset the ink level indicator for my Canon1800 by holding down the 2nd button for 6 to 10 seconds until the yellow light stops blinking and the green one begins then repeating this for the second refilled ink cartridge but I have not found a solution for the ip6210d. Do you know how to disable the ink level indicator thus allowing refilled cartridges to be used?

I had this problem: I took out a cartridg to physically clean it, and when I replaced it it said "the ink level cannot be determined, etc, press OK to continue without this function. Use only genuine Canon cartridges, etc"
I kept clicking OK to the dialogue box, and it just reappeared. Then I pressed the OK button ON THE PRINTER which allowed me to continue using the cartridge but without an ink level indication which is fine by me: at least you can drain the cartridge unlike the latest Epsons.

Did you uninstall and reinstall the program? Sometimes the program driver needs to be updated.

Using old but good printer. Just purchased black cartridge (PG-40) but when I went to install it there is already a coloured CL-51 coloured cartridge and a CL-52 Photo cartridge. There's no space for the...

Hi Wendy,
According to the user guide for your printer, the only 2 cartridges that you can use is CL51 and CL52. From my references, the PG-40 cart doesn't go to your printer. If you are having trouble with your printer printing black, then you would have to replace the CL-51 Cart. I would make sure that the heads are clean before running out for a new cartridge. You should be able to do a "Printhead Clean" from the settings.
Hope this helps.

You need to power cycle the printer by unplugging the power cable from the back of the printer if it still does not resolve the issue, you can try changing the power cable and if not get it checked could be hardware issue.

Wont use remanufactured ink

Canon won't use refilled inks unless you replace the chip on the cartridge, or purchase a chip resetter on line.

Canon pixma ip6210D. Error 5100. Ink carriage will not return. Printer will not print.

Solution 1:
Clean the timing strip.

Solution 2:
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .

Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.

No, it's not printer fault. It is a cartridge error. Try to exchange your cartridge with your purchaser.
