Help!! I have only this tv for about 3 1/2 years. I left the tv on, went to take a shower, came back to black screen with sound from cable. I went to hit the power button, it blinked red 3 times and tv went black again. I unplugged, replugged, blue reset screen appeared for 4 seconds and tv went black and red light blinked several times again. I just lost my job and can no way pay for a repair right now. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.
Your lamp has most likely blown out. that is what happened to mine and once I replaced the bulb it worked just fine. this is one of the cheaper stores to find a replacement bulb, www.bluestar-online.com

Mitsubishi extended the warranty on THIS model to 3 years. Check your manufacture date on the back of the TV, , Then call Mitsubishi. They are replacing light engines and/or replacing TVs with newer models without the problem part.
I just had this problem with my Samsung 50' DLP HLR5067WX/XAA. Fortunatly it was still under warranty with Best Buy, so they fixed it for me. They had to order a brand new light engine. (or where the mirrors are, if i'm not using the right terminalogy) He said the problem is with one of the mirrors that has slipped (or slipping because overtime the black line will get thicker and thicker). I hope i'm saying it right, but it was with a tiny mirror that was slipping. Hope it's under warranty. I've also had 1x component plug burn out on me, my HDMI port went to ****, and he's gotta come back out because when he made the repair, the picture was reflecting too high up and to the left. (MLB 2k7 for xbox 360 - scores on top of screen are about 1/4th cut off). He said is next trip back to my house would result in me getting a new TV, so can't wait for his arrival! good luck with your tv
