Error 1 - Indicates time card stuffing. If an individual tries to force a card into the unit, the 4000/4000HD will accept the card but will not print or store any payroll data. If this situation occurs, an ERROR 1 will show on the front display and the card will not be "punched". Solution: Rerun the time card through the time recorder without pushing on the card. Why don’t you try another usb cable? Or you could try transferring via Bluetooth as well. From the message, 'unexpected error has occurred in communication' you can see that the device providing the communication between phone and PC, i.e. cable is not functioning well. That is why even when you switch from port to port the problem persists.
This happened to me today. My first time to use a DS-2. The problem did not occur any more after I disconnected the cord from the recorder and reinserted it with the arrow facing down.
This seems to happen with alot of dvd recorders especially if discs left unfinalised for long periods of time. This happens on all makes of recorders not just your model. Also the quality of the dvds being used can be the problem. How old is your recorder as the only other problem which could cause this is the laser losing power
