SOURCE: want to use ipod on cdx-f5710, how to fix it
use the aux lite input on the rear of the reciever. If it is a 3.5mm plug, you will need an extension with both ends male. One end in the aux port, on your head unit, the other end in the headphone jack of the ipod.
If it is RCA Aux lite, you need an rca-to-3.5mm adapter. Either item should be relatively cheap. $4-$5 USD

Sony head units use either a 9 pin connection or a 16 pin connection. Here is a link to both, respectfully.

Looking at the installation guide, I do not see a pink wire. The light blue one looks like it is for the antenna. http://www.docs.sony.com/release/CDXF5710install.pdf
