Try replacing Q605, D690, D647 and Q690. These are all individual components that Sony techs have identified as being the source of the problem. You could try replacing one component at a time, but that would be time intensive. Its up to you! You could also become a premium member and request the "9 Blinks, ZCD/KV27FS320, KV32FS120, KV32FS320, KV36FS120, KV36FS320" information package, which was the source of this information.

It probably is not a fuse. If you can go into test mode it is not a fuse. I'm working on my daughter's tv 9 flashes. Purchased the manual so much for that it stops at 5 flashes. This is a zero crossing problem. I am digging and will come back when I find the fix. Many are stating replace the xxx diodes on the G board. Sorry guys no G board on this tv.

Stanby light blinks 9 times after powering on but no picture

  • Nine blinks - Replace D 6116 and D 6301 on the "G" board, do not resolder as this will fix the problem temporary. Or Panel Module Error or Thermal Error. If it is intermittent 9 blinks, meaning sometimes the TV comes on and other times you get flashing, then change the switching regulator on the "G" board or check connections.
Hope that helps.

Sony Wega kp46wt520 no power up, 9 times it blinks red

You will need to replace the G board. You can try replacing the two diodes that usually fail, But because its a complex circuit with the zero cross detection the diode replacement never fixes the issue. Replacing or remanufacturing the G board is the only sure way to fix that issue.

    Sonny 32" WEGA flatscreen.

The set has a problem in the power supply, to be more specific it is the ZCD or zero cross detection circuit. The way you can tell is with the set off use the Sony remote and in sequence press the display then the 5 then the volume down then press the power button on the remote. The set should come on bypassing that circuit. The screen will come up with a diagnostic screen with abbreviations like HSTOP, VSTOP, LOW B+, etc. There will be one towards the bottom that says ZCD. The number to the right will be higher than zereo indicating the ZCD circuit at fault and yes a technician will have to repair that.
