Well, here are some ideas as to why it might be like that...
1. Your battery is old, like how cell phone batteries die quicker the longer you use them, your ds may be the same way...
2. You have dropped your ds (have you in those 3 months of it sitting around?) and now the battery is loose or broken.
3. Just try to plug your ds charger into your ds, and see what happens. This should be the method that works, if your ds won't turn on, its because the batteries probably dead, just plug it into a wall outlet and see what happens...
Hope this helps you get started, GOOD LUCK! :-)

Nintedo Ds Wont turn on! Even if Charged!

Does the yellow light come on when charging? Could be that the fuse for the charging circuit has gone, or on of the screens has been damaged. If it's only 4 months old and not been dropped etc, send it back to Nintendo I'd have thought.

It's a faulty main board. You can try and fix it by doing this.

Ds will not turn on

Okay, So according to your problem, you could try maybe to remove all possible outside connections ( DS cardtridge or GTA Cart) Then try actually changing the battery itself as maybe it is the battery problem, but thats all i can help to. : ) Hope you get them fixed soon. You could get them looked at at a NDS shop too

Ds lite comes on for a sec when charger plugged in then it goes of unit does not come on or charge

Hi three things come to mind, you dropped it but usually they wont admit it (dont go mad they usually all break when you do) if it rattles the capacitor under the power switch just fell off (common you have to solder it back on) if not that you replaced the bottom screen and forgot to insulate the metal of the back of the screen against the circuit board and blew either the f1 or f2 fuses (Replace them if you did) last thing i wont go into if you havent pulled it apart if you have reply and i will tell you Good Luck

Nintendo DS does not turn on

Find a friend that has a DS and try using their battery and charger to troubleshoot your hardware. If your battery and charger work with another DS, then you may have a problem with your DS motherboard.

My assumption at this point is the battery.

Wont turn on

The orange charge light turns on when you plug it in and goes off after a short time? If so, it may be a problem with your battery. Does the power light flash green when you turn it on? As batteries are recharged more, they slowly lose their capability to hold a charge. i would suggest borrowing a battery from a friend, if it works, you need a new battery.

Ds lite charging problem

See if you can move it to a different outlet. There could be another solution. If you have 2 Ds's make sure that they're not on the same outlet. If one of the plugs is upside down, it sometimes won't work. See if these ideas will help... and by the way, i don't know why you can't play it when it's charging.
