You will have to search the internet for suitable drivers for 98 but I do not think you will find them

First of all you need to find out what sound chip you have on your motherboard. Download and install PC Wizard and click onto the loudspeaker icon. This should give you all the info you need about your computer. If you still cannot locate a suitable driver on the web come back and I will have a look for you.
