Everything on my 3G iPhone works except the phone will not work unless on speaker or with headphones. It does not seem to be "locked" on headphones as the volume control shows "ringer" when at the home screen

I tried that and it was no help. I finally took the phone to Apple. The tech looked at the mic with a narrow beam and declared that something had detached and could not be repaired. The phone was replaced, which of course meant that all music had to be re-loaded and apps purchased through the phone rather than iTunes were lost.

Try restoring the phone in itunes.

that is wierd that it would come loose
Glad to hear that you got it replaced and remember you can get the extended warrantee through apple until one year after purchase

Using the apple remote app on the iPhone only changes the song on your home laptop with windows 7. To play songs through your headphones or internal speaker you have to use the iPod app that was preinstalled on your iPhone 4.

One of the speakers of my iphone is not working

the iphone has only one speaker located at the left side, what you see on the opposite side is the microphone. this mean, your iphone is in proper condition and the speaker is working perfectly. nothing to worry about...

I would say most probabely Hardware. The earpiece speaker has either has bad or has moved from its locations and does not connect to the terminals on your phone.

Voicemail does not work

Had the same problemwith my iPhone 3G this is how I fixed it -

1) From the iPhone 3G, I called my own iPhone 3G number.
2) Went through the setup. After finishing the ssetup Hang off the iPhone 3G.
3) Then the voicemail button on the iPhone 3G worked - first time, there was a **** pause, it asked me to enter my voicemail password that I had set in step 2, and that's it.
