Purple-blue haze and line across my Mitsubishi wd62530 screen

I own a Wd62530 Mitsubishi sixty-two inch television. I replaced the bulb last year after it blew out. While watching it the other day, it developed a purpleish-blue haze on the right side of the screen, and a blue vertical line across the bottom with the same haze. This happens after the T.v warms up. It is faint, but I am afraid it will get worse. Can someone tell me what this is? And how do I fix it?

Thank you for your help!

SOURCE: i have a vertical line across my screen from top

Vertical lines more likely to be caused by bad T-CON board, you need to check the connections between the T-CON board and the main logic board, it can possibly be the main logic board also.

We have sound but no picture from our WD62530

you could have a ballast that has gone bad especiallyif it takes the bulb a long time to brighten up. look in the front of the set and see if the bulb indicator light tells to replace bulb or lamp. then you could try to reset the tv just in case this could unset an improper setting. the correct way to reset would be found in the user manual.

Blue Haze in middle of screen vertical

There is no solution with Hitachi products.

If you have read many of the posts, you would have known not to buy Hitachi Telivisions or like me avoid all Hitachi products. There help line is not very useful, they just blow you off. I have never had a worse experience with other manufacturers. Take Onkyo for instance, they had a problem with a chip in their THX receiver and it was a year later ... I called their help line they located a repair store about 40 miles from where I live (in Texas that is not very long) and got my receiver fixed and this was 8 years ago.

Also use Consumer Reports to check the frequency of repair record for the product you are going to buy. In Plasma - Panasonic is a safe brand, in LCD's Sony or Samsung have good repair records.

Research the product before you buy it, avoid walking into a store have the salesperson direct you to a product. And then you save money if you order it online. Amazon online is very good.

It could be only dust building up and it needs a good cleaning or it could be the DMD board is going bad and needs to be replaced.

Blue haze on hitachi 51" tv

I finally emailed Hitachi about the blue haze and since my televison is only 16 months old they agreed to pay for the part (they didn't say what part) and I will have to pay the service charge. The repairman is coming out on 2 Apr 08. I will post results after that.

Green dot in middile of my screen

The green dot in the center sounds like a burn mark on one or more of the picture tubes inside the set, and the curved lines are telling me that you have a problem in the convergence circuits. The blue haze around everything white tells me you either have a lot of dust build up on the lens over the CRTs, or your picture tube(s) are very weak. If this set is over about 12 years old, I would replace it. I doubt if you will be able to get the green dot out of the picture without changing the tubes which would be VERY expensive.
