I need to install the PSC 2410 driver on a company laptop. The printer is the employee's property, located at her home. Unlike every other printer installer I've used, this one demands the printer be attached for installation/configuration to finish. I clicked "Skip", hoping the employee could just attach the printer and go, but she's being prompted for our administrator password. Is there any trick to installing the driver completely without the printer attached? Why do companies write software like this? :-(
Most softwares have a custom installation mode you should be able to enter into at the front screen, allowing custom installation (and allowing username changes). If it is a lap top, why can't you install it using network connectivity, in explorer settings, allowing you to connect to other computers, hence avoiding going to her home. It is done over the internet, and it should recognise the printer attatched to her pc at home, and sove your problem. Alternatively, she can invite you on to her pc through same process.
