Sandisk Sansa E280 playlists

Ive had my mp3 player for about 4 months now and suddenly all my playlists have been playing up.After i put the music on the mp3 and play it, it works fine but if i turn it off and back on again my playlists are all odd they are either put songs in the wrong playlist, they have become shorter than they are ment to be or instead of the title of the song it comes up in symbols instead of coming up in a font thats readable. If it comes up in symbols i cannot play the songs. CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP?

My Sansa e280 is not downloading my playlists from Windows Media. I have tried dragging and dropping the playlists from my computer music folder to the Sansa folder and it still will not write to the mp3...

Hello,
The Sansa e280 can be operated in 2 ways of USB connection modes: MSC or MTP.

In MSC mode, viewing the player as a removable disk, the "copy
and paste" or "drag and drop" method will work.
In MSC mode always through the "safely remove hardware" icon, click to remove the player's disk before taking out the USB cable.

In MTP mode, operating the player in software like Windows Media Player: under Library or Sync,
first create a playlist
next sync the playlist.
In MTP mode, follow up the warning or text in the software that gives permission when to disconnect the player.

Cannot create playlist

You must be in MTP mode, create a sync list in WMP, then drag the play list to the sync list of the e-280. it will create the new playlist on the e280.

Synchronize to continue your music subscription

hmm... well someone probably placed a subscription time on the songs you purchased. the only thing i could think to do would be to try and reload them to your mp3 player

Duplicating songs

The device has 2 modes of operation MSC and MTP.

If you put music or playlists on in either mode and then changed modes to add more music, you will inevitably have duplicated your music.

Best solution is to format the device to remove everything, then pick one mode ant use that one only.

Best of Luck.

Formated the SanDisk Sansa E280

You dragged & dropped files in recovery mode? Recovery mode is only for re-installing the firmware or formatting the device if it is unresponsive. If you are wanting to drag and drop files onto the device, the music needs to be put into the Music folder on the device. If you do not see the Music folder, you will need to enable hidden files and folders on your PC. Best of Luck. p.s. - you can add to this question this doesnt work.

Dates on music uploads from Windows Media player to device are skewed.

Select all music while on you windows and right click on them , then go to "Summary" tab. Check if your music's dates are right. If not Ok. then check the date settings with your Sansa e280. If all dates are set .. then you should have the your music working fine. Not working ? I recommend a firmware update.
