C902 water damage??

Hello!

My C902 came into contact with water a few weeks ago. A while after when I tried calling someone I couldn't hear them at all. Only just today have I tried the phone again (after using a different phone for a few weeks) and found I can hear them when on loud speaker! Also the camera keeps freezing and doesn't work. I assume this is due to the water. What do you think? Is it fixable or shall I just get a new phone!? Thank you for your help.

Your suspicions are correct, this is due to water damage. If you ever get water in or on it...promptly take the battery out and put both into a bowl of rice and cover it up. This will draw out any moisture from inside the phone.

If there is still ANY water in it and you try to use it, the phone will short out. You will still get some functionality, but you need to get a new phone.

Sorry about your misfortune, thank you for trying Fixya!

Try answering a call or sending one while doing this try raising the volume by pressing the volume up key if you see the volume is up and you are still not hearing then the reciever speaker is probably damaged and should be repaired by someone capable of doing so

Bose not working

Hello,
I just saw this question pop up a few minutes ago. If you had spilled a full glass on it, you might not care about it as much. :-) No seriously, you may have damaged all sorts of components, including, but not limited to, the display microprocessor(computer within your unit).

Please try out a few things for me and contact me with the full details at my website, audioserviceclinic.com. You can contact me through the website. Try turning it back on, try a CD, or the tuner, to see if it's functioning at all. If it does play a CD, or DVD, you should see it counting off time. Next please tell me if you hear any clicking sound when you first push the power button. You should hear an immediate click, followed by another click within 5 to 10 seconds. I know you'll hear the first click; what I'm looking for is the second click..

You may have DC Offset(meaning a damaged amplifier). As I said before, you may also have a damaged microprocessor that "thinks" the amplifier is bad(it's too technical to discuss here), when it really isn't.

There are too many issues to cover here on Fixya, so please contact me through my website. There are many, many issues, that may have happened; none of which you can resolve on your own.

Thank you.

I have a Canon SD750 camera. It was the victim of a water flood and I dried the unit completely. After recharging the battery, I couldn't get it to power up. I took the camera apart and found several...

Unfortunately with water damage the camera may work for a few days or even weeks after you first dry it out, but then it will stop working completely. If you have corrosion from water exposure then the camera is gone, it's not worth trying to fix. Even if you replace the main PCB it probably has damage to the lens, LCD screen and flash as well.

Hello, I think You should have a cooling fan that can cool it from heat. Because the cause of that problem is that the prossesor is over heated and it cant contiune. So you have to take out of power for sometime (1 hour or more) then try it again. If you need me call on me back.

Spilled water on keyboard weeks ago nothing is happening

Its going to be a write off....contact your insurance company for claim.

I have processed a few like yours and the damage is terminal. By the time you price up parts / labour its cheaper to replace.

My sony Ericsson C902 screen has two black lines running accross the screen. I did drop it about 2 months ago but it was fine afterwards and since that I have not dropped it again. The lines were there...

Damage takes time especially water damage. I suggest getting a new phone because over the next month chances are against you that the phone screen will fully black out. Get a new phone as soon as you can. Not having a screen sucks, trust me! I hope I helped you out! Good Luck!
