Washing machine wont spin

Every thing on my washer works great, except it won't spin.. it goes through all of the cycles, it agitates fine, everything is good until it is supposed to spin, then you here the motor acting like it is spinning, but the drum is standing still. Any suggestions?

I hvae a kenmore washing machine. Goes through all cycles with no problems, but when it comes to the spin cyle, it will not do anything!Nothing at all.

the spin cycle just will not spin. everything else works but the spin.

starts and runs thru agitate, but loading humming when time to spin. I wait 30 minutes, and all is fine, until next spin cycle.

Try and help it to spin in the spin mode.. if it moves.. sounds like a clutch problem ..IF NOT... you may have something like nail, screw ect... binding the spin tub from moving.. get a flash lite do some close checking inside the spin tub

Washing Machine, Apliance help.

Washer works great during the wash and rinse cycle,the agitator works fine for those but the drum will not spin on the spin cycle. A couple of things go on when the washer goes from wash to spin, the motor pivots, tightens the belt and the drum spins up to speed. I had the same problem on my Maytag, I replaced the belt and the pullys and it has been washing and spinning great ever since, The belts can be accessed by removing the front panel, or disconnecting the machine and laying it down, if you see a lot of fine black dust,(rubber), the belt is probably worn out, change the pullys also at this time, it is cheap insurance that everything will go well. make sure that the motor pivots smoothly, if it does not, correct this issue first and run it. That may solve your problem, A great website that i use for parts and info is www.repairclinic.com. They have parts diagrams for tons of appliances, and stock parts, I have used them many times in the past.

Washer wont agitate, pops breaker

Could be the gears/transmission for the agitate cycle are jammed, the motor then freezers, creates an overload and the breaker pops.

HELP!! Washer machine wont work. Doesnt drain or spin. Clicks to drain and spin but nothing happens, the timer still counts down as if everything is fine.

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

If the machine starts, fills and goes through its' agitate cycle fine, the problem is likely not in the motor or transmission.

This type of washer uses a reversible motor. When turning one way, the machine agitates the clothes.

When the timer gets to the spin cycle, the motor reverses, drives the pump (directly from the motor) for a period of time and then goes into spin cycle.

This appears then that is is either the connection to the motor itself or the timer.

The timer is driven by a separate motor on the control panel so if the contacts for the spin cycle are worn, the timer will move but the motor won't turn on.

did you check to see if there was anything stuck in the pump? sometimes socks and other small articles get dow there and wont allow the washer to spin or drain

Agitator does not move but activates high pitch buzz
