The Remington 8017 worked fine for the first 2 years. Now it just started to pull the hair and not cut very well at all. It is really self sharpening? If so maybe it is just worn out.
What is the problem? Will it require a new cutting head or some other part?

I have an Andis dog clipper that starts out cutting perfectly, but after three or four passes it just won't clip. Any ideas? How are the two blades suppose to align if the blades have been taken apart and put back together

Not really - where do they get their oil? the motor may be self oiling but the clipper part needs external very light oil. they operate just like a hedge clipper. the sickle bar on a hedge clipper needs oil to function.

All clipper/trimmer blades must be oiled both before and after use. Hold the unit with the blades pointed toward the floor. Put a dab of oil across the front of the blades and turn the unit on to get the oil distributed through the entire blade. Turn the unit off and wipe the blades with a soft cloth to remove any excess oil.

Clipper won't cut cleanly or easily. Lack of oil and dirty. Sometimes a hair gets caught between the blades. Lubricate and clean your Clippers regularly.

If the clippers stopped cutting, they are probably clogged with hair on the inside of the clippers. I had two pairs of clippers where this happened. I took them to be serviced at a beauty supply store and they cleaned the hair from the inside of both pairs of clippers for me and they now work just fine.

How do I get my clippers to cut?

Try giving the blade an extra 1/2 a turn of tension, done by turning the red knob 1/2 a turn clockwise. It sounds as though the blades are jamming up which could be a lack of tension.

try running the blade for a bit keep lubricating in between the blades its important to oil your blades during and after use to avoid rust build up on the cutting surfaces. Also just make sure the blade is engaging onto the clippers ok.

I cant get my new clippers to cut my dogs hair. How do I adjust them?

Could you please be more specific in what the clippers are or are not actually doing? Are they stopping when you attempt to clip the dog? Is the blade just gliding through the fur? What setting do you have the clippers on? Has the dog been bathed and combed? With a little more information I will be better able to help you.

Thank you,
