CD Error I just purchased the Nak CD500 and after only 6 CD plays I am getting a whinning noise then a CD Error. The CD stops playing and is ejected. This mostly occures while driving but it will eventually do it at rest. Has anyone experienced this and what is the fix.

Return it?

my first CD-500 had problems too. i just returned it and got a new one and the new one works perfectly.

it seems these stereos are hit-or-miss. i believe they are made in Malaysia now, not Japan, and that Nakamichi is not really 'Nakamichi' any more.

but i still love my CD-500.

Cd player flopped @ a party

This is a normal problem with these players. Trust me I own two of them. There is an overheating problem with them. they usually oveerheat after about 3 hours. I usually just throw on a long mix and let the other player cool off. Check the unoffical Denon forums and you will see that this has been a problem for years.
