Tape is stuck in my 1990 buick reatta

I have a tape stuck in my radio and its driving me nuts. Please help me get it out

    I had the same problem and I slipped a piece of paper under the CD then very gently pushed eject, it took a few goes, but the CD finally came out, then I did a CD player clean, should have done that first eh!, /all the best, Susy.

Turn the power on the radio Cassette hit eject turn the power off turn the power back on. The cassette may come out unraveled but that's only way I can think of you will get it out.

How do i remove a stuck cassette tape from a 1994 chevy truck player?
Does it make noise or move when you hit the eject button? If so, slide a butter knife under the exposed edge of the tape drive adaptor about an 1/8" and hit the eject button. Just a little upward pressure should help it release. It the eject button has no effect, you may need to pull the radio out, open the cover and manually turn the eject drive assembly.

How to remove stuck tape
To type over the 3 pages from the manual and put the two images here, would be to much. Every DLT and Ultra SDLT manual has a chapter about how to remove the tape, when it got stuck. Please use your own manual for this.

2000 Buick Century. Put in a replacement radio/cd/casset player. Radio works, clock works, but CD and casset do not. The message comes up E 13. What does this e code mean?
if its a radio shack radio, it means E13 means "Tape Communication Error". It is caused by the
microprocessor reading speed pulses from the tape deck either too fast, most other makes mean about the same thing, normally a stuck tape will cause this code to show up, either that or the drive gear that loads and unloads the tape is broken, cracked, or jammed

If the belt is fine then the pinch roller must work to pull the tape with the capstan working.
so please open set and get glimpse to see if the pinch roller is engaging. If not the loading mechanism is not working. you will need to see if the reel drive is also working. So unless the mechansim is checked there is no question of the sound coming out.
So see that the loading engages the pinch roller to pull tape and the reel drive to gather the winding, if not reset loadding mechanism .
However if the tape moves and there is no sound then the head preamp, the tone amp or the output amp can be faulty. You can use a signal test to confirm the section.

did the error code start with the tape getting stuck? i have heard that if you disconnect the battery for 5-10 minutes it will reset the radio but make sure you have a code for it to unlock it it the radio has security. they say it starts working again if you do this. again this is just what i have heard a toyota tech say when i worked there. it may be that it knows it has a problem with the tape and keeps it inop, as far as getting the tape out, it either breaks the tape or the tape player or both. i worked at a car stereo shop for 10 years and very rare for both to survive.

Ultrium tape stuck
I highly recommend that you contact Certance for assistance. Tape drives are expensive and you don't want to risk damaging it.

If you are feeling brave you could see if you can manually eject the tape.
Remove the tape drive from the chassis and look for a manual rewind screw on the bottom or back of the drive. This is provided on some drives to allow you to manually wind the tape back into the cartrige and eject it.

My raido s rear speakers just stoped working including the sub .put after market stero worked great for 2 weeks then started sounding like crud ran all new wires to stero and to speakers when it's off it sounds good but as soon as I start it it sound like crud again.
