Cd dont revolve in player

Hi,
i have a Panasonic SL-CT582 and recently my cds simply won't revolve in the tray. I have no problem getting them in & out, it's just that they will not move inside the tray. I suppose the material used to create an empty space between the cd and the tray has malfunctioned in some way or the other.. please not that the cd can move in the tray of i giggle it a bit only the cd material clashes with the plastic tray making a distinct sound and i guess damaging the cd as well.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
Itay

hi and thanks for the speedy reply.

Unfortunately, your reply does'nt seem to correspond with my problem.

the main problem i'm facing is that the cd surface touches the tray and does not hover an inch or so above it. The motor itself revolves but scratches my cd doing so/

Please review my first post again for more details.

    Thanks again!

This sounds like a problem with the CD motor. As CD players get used a lot, the motor gets worn down and eventually stops working. If you get a lot of dust in the player, this can also slow down or stop the motor. If you feel like frankensteining the CD player, you can try and see if there is any dust. If you like this perticular cd player, I would suggest going to a electronics repair shop and have them take a look, but with the prices of portable CD players these days, you might be better of just getting a new one. You may even find one with better features at a lower price.

Panasonic DVD CD and vidio CD made in 2002

If your Panasonic DVD/CD player is not reading CDs and is making a grinding noise, there could be several issues at play. Keep in mind that specific troubleshooting steps may vary based on the exact model of your DVD/CD player. However, here are some general suggestions:
  1. Cleaning the Optical Lens: Over time, the optical lens inside the DVD/CD player can accumulate dust and debris, leading to reading issues. You can try using a CD/DVD lens cleaning kit to clean the lens. Follow the instructions provided with the cleaning kit.
  2. Check the Disc: Ensure that the discs you are using are clean and free from scratches. Even new CDs can have manufacturing defects. Try using different CDs to see if the issue persists.
  3. Inspect the Loading Mechanism: The grinding noise you're hearing could be related to a problem with the loading mechanism. Open the disc tray and visually inspect for any obstructions or foreign objects that may be hindering the movement of the tray.
  4. Reset the Player: Turn off the DVD/CD player and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve temporary issues.
  5. Firmware Update: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your DVD/CD player. Visit the Panasonic website, enter your model number, and look for firmware updates and instructions on how to perform them.
  6. Professional Inspection: If the issue persists after trying the above steps, it may be necessary to seek professional assistance. There could be a mechanical problem with the internal components of the player that requires specialized attention.
If you are unable to find the exact manual for your specific model online, you may want to contact Panasonic customer support directly. They can provide you with model-specific advice and may have access to manuals or troubleshooting guides for your particular DVD/CD player.

RCA rs2130i won't play MP3 or WMA anymore

first the laser may be dirty. you can find lens cleaning disks at any cd store. But have you recently bought a new pack of cds? Sometimes certain CDs just simply dont work with some players. No reason for it they jsut dont work. You could also be using the wrong type of cd, CD+R vs CD-R

Hi Ive got a panasonic home theater scht670, and recently my cd tray broke litteraly broken trying to fix it, and I was wonder if theress a way to bypass the initalization of the cd tray or where can i get...

If you have the broken pieces, try gluing them together with ABS pipe cement (not PVC unless it is also labeled for ABS). If you can't find this, then use metal-filled epoxy (JB-Weld). Unless the tray is in the extended position and the break is outside the the rest of the mechanism, I recommend either manually working the mechanism to get the tray fully extended or disassembling the mechanism to get the tray out. You don't want to risk gluing other parts of the player, and you'll have more control over the necessary clamping of the pieces.

Discs not playing

Don't know this issue with this particular player, but have had other Technics (Matsushita, Panasonic...) CD players doing something similar to this. In most cases, those were carousel players instead of single disc players like yours. These units had optical sensors that determined the presence of CDs in each tray slot by determining whether light was blocked from its LED to its sensor when a disc was present... no light at sensor meant that there was a CD in the slot. The sensors interpreted a shadow as an indication of a disc in the tray. I've had these sensors fail and not be able to determine that a disc was blocking its light signal... the players didn't "see" discs so they wouldn't play them. Solutions varied, but cheapest, easiest solution was often to open the player and blind the sensor completely with a piece of black electrical tape. Most of these sensors I have encountered got too sensitive, so that any light at all inside the player was seen as an empty slot. Blinding the sensors "fixed" most of these players, but disabled the ability to really tell that any given tray slot was empty.
Or, since it is an old player, there is also the possibility that it has simply run its course and the laser assembly has failed.

Good Luck.

My technics sl-p770 doesn?t recognize the loaded CD.A cd is alway spin but not any track in audio cd.

Try cleaning the lens with a cd/dvd lens cleaner disc. Another thing of note....some cd players simply will not recognize homemade cds, or dics that are not audio discs, or if they were made on a computer.

Doesn't read the cd. says

If any cd player does not play, three things, it either the wrong format, dirty cd or faulty cd player. If your cd player play others cd, it mean others are the wrong format. for example older cd player is not compatible to play some of the cd formatted from the computer. if the cd player does not play anything that mean the cd player is faulty.
