Hi, I just experienced the same problem and realize the reason my msg of "CHK SCANNER LOCK/PLS RETURN POWER" was because I had to many things plugged in the same power outlet (computer, tv, printer, internet)... when i turned off the tv (the machine worked fine). hope this helps

The "offline" indication means your computer is having a communication error. There are a few things you can do to troubleshoot this. First, turn your PC and your printer off. Then check the USB cable running from your printer to your PC to make sure it is plugged in all the way on both ends. Power your PC and printer back on. If this doesn't work, try plugging the USB cable into a different USB port. If this doesn't work, uninstall the driver, then reinstall it. If it still does not work, don't rate me yet. Shoot me some more details because I have more TIPS up my sleeve.
Since the cds are stuck inside, you need to open the unit and remove them. There are four screws on the top cover. Remove them (2 on each side) and lift the cover. You should see the cds, remove them, then plug on the unit.
