My EasyshareOne 6.1 mp won't turn on :(

(08/28/07) A couple days ago when I turned on my camera an error message came on that said "error, shut down." I shut it off and then tried to turn it back on. The lens protruded forward and has remained in that position since then. When i press the on/off button a light flashes by the Capture/View switch, but nothing happens. I thought that maybe my battery was old (I bought this camera on 08/2006)so i bought a new one and fully charged it and then placed it in the camera and still it will not turn on, and the lens will not retract. Please help, I really love my camera and I hope I can fix it. Thanks 4 ur help.

I do not think it it sand or dirt in it, as it is always kept inside the house in its case. I will visit a repair shop and find out whats wrong with it.

    Thanks for trying.

    Hi

I've got the same problem as mismac. Keep getting the 'Error--Shut down' message on a red screen when i try to turn on my Easyshare one. I was thinking about getting a new battery as well but I guess I know that won't fix the problem now.

I'd really love some help on this as I've had my camera for less than a year now.

    Cheers

Either gear box problem ( sand/ dirt )or lens is impacted. First problem not expensive to cure but the second requres lens unit to be replaced : probably uneconomical to repair; get a quote from camera repair outfit in your area.

Canon MP 270 spooler problems paper jam problems scanning probs

I have had problems with this printer, too. See my Amazon review here:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B002LVUKL0/ref=cm_cr_dp_hist_1?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&filterBy=addOneStar

(Mine is the second one down).

The Canon MP270 does seem to have a few problems. It's not one of Canon's finest products, to say the least. It seems to be getting a reputation for problems, problems...

I gave up and bought a HP Deskjet printer instead. I know that's not a fix, but I found it was the best solution!

I geting lens erro 1.1.3.0.0.0

You did not say your camera is 6 MP or 4 MP. But if it is 6 MP then do the followings.

When an error code appears on the LCD, turn the Mode dial off and then turn it on.

If the error code appears again:
Step-by-Step Solutions and Repair tool is available, use the tool to see if you can fix the problem yourself.

Good Luck.

Lens Error

This is probably THE most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Lens error messages

Looks like the only thing to do is send it in for service, which if it's out of warranty is not very cheap. Or you can sell it on ebay or craiglist and use the money to buy a comparable one.
Good luck,

Camera Error Message #E41

Hello Yami, I suggest you that dont leave any digital camera non-used for a long. your error shows that camera needs service. I think that you can not do it yourself. But try onething, just store your camera in a small corrugated paper box twice bigger than camera and leave it in sunlight for a couple of hour. then take it indoor and leave it for an hour to cooldown at room temperature. Now it is suggested to incert the batteries and try to operate. I hope your problem will be fixed. pls remove the battery when you leave the camera in sunlight. good luck.....

Memory Stick Error

Have you tried re-formatting the cards? If you can't with the camera you should be able to with a card reader. It's probably the camera, unfortunately, but this is worth a shot...
