Hi, Could be anything but chances are it's the battery. It's very rare (but still happens) for the electronics of a UPS to be faulty. Try leaving the UPS powered on but without any load (PC, monitor, printer off) for a few hours or better still overnight. Try it again and observe if the random shut off occur. If yes, then it is time for a replacement battery. At certain instances, it may be that the UPS is working too much (overloaded), try just running the CPU to the UPS and the monitor directly connected to the mains. Make sure you don't have any unecessary programs loading up into windows when your laptop boots up. The next time the system randomly reboots check to see if the laptop feels a bit warmer then normal. Could be that your air vents are being blocked by dust. That would cause the air not to flow properly. Take a can of air and blow the vents clear so the air can flow properly and that would take care of the problem.

1999 Honda Accord randomly shuts down while driving

The ignitor in the distributor needs changed. This little guy can cause massive headaches. They work intermittently, but once warm, they knock the ignition spark off.

Power is erratic. Shuts off randomly.

it could be caused by a lot of things. isolate it first. since its randomly shutting down, try first in normal mode. does it heats up before it turns off, if yes its an overheating issue. you may need to replace fan or even motherboard of your pc. have you checked your battery? is it properly seated? or is the problem happening when your system is plugged with the ac adapter? try to check the power cable.

The PSU voltages can be checked with a digital multimeter at the ATX connector, 3.3v (orange), 5.0v (red) & 12v (yellow) if the DMM is indicating values of MORE than 5% variation your PSU is the likely villain (best to rule it out first).

Are you getting a BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) or error messages when you PC randomly shuts down?
