Connecting samsung surround sound to palsonic tv.

Surround sound works when playing dvds & cds but we can't get the TV to work through the surround sound. The place we bought it from told us they would work together; we rang them saying it wasn't working, they told us we needed a toslink converter, we bought one and still not working. Called 'experts' one told us it won't work as they don't 'match' and the other said it will work. Don't want to pay for an 'expert' to some out and be told it won't work. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: no sound from PS3 through Pioneer 1017

It will work easily. One way you can do this is to use a fiber optic cable coming from the PS3 to the receiver. 2nd way, and this is the way that I run mine is to run the PS3 to your tv, and then run a fiber optic from your tv(if it is a lcd or plasma you should have this) to your receiver.

SOURCE: Yamaha CDC-765: sometimes skips when playing CDs

The problem is in the laser for sure. Try cleaning with a cd cleaning tool. It's the easiest solution because changing the laser is not always available solution.

Do you have an optical audio output jack on your tv? Some tv's don't output audio from that jack unless you go into the setup menu and turn in on.

I have rca home theater system rtd215 plays dvds fine but no sound when im watching tv programs i have no cable box just the jacks on my tv [52 projection screen phillips] and i tried hooking them into the...

This reson you are not hearing any "TV AUDIO" through your RCA surround system would be due to your tv sound output not being connected to an audio input into your surround system. You can hear DVDs,CDs and radio possibly mp3 if connected, as these are built in to the amplifier which the speakers connect to.
If the tv has a Line out (via phono plugs) and NOT via headphone out, connect it to an audio input on the RCA surround system. If the RCA has no other available inputs, well....there ain't a lot you can do but watch CSI with the sound from the TV and then Star Wars (for example) through the TV and Surround system.

My Samsung TV picture is supplied via a HDMI lead

yes you need to connect audio out from the tv to audio in on the dvd surround. you need the red/white phono to phono leads, simply connect together and select audio (av,au) on the input selection.

Ibought samsung surround sound and hooked it to the tv,but it only works when i play dvd.how can i connect to my tv so i can surround sound from tv or drem box

connect audio cables from the audio out jacks on your tv to the audio in jacks on your samsung surround. they may be labeled video 1,2 or aux. if your using a cable box the cable box may have optical or digital input jacks. your samsung surround should have a digital in jack which requires an optical cable.

No surround sound on normal tv just dvds

Do you have a cable box or satellite box? If you do, try hooking up your TV sound through the box. Look for audio out in the back of box (white/red RCA Jacks). Hook RCA cable from cable box to surround amp. Even if the audio out jacks are being used already, you can use Y connectors to hook up the surround amp to the box.
Hope this works for you!

The surround sound is working with dvds and cds but not with tv

Did you try hitting the Doby Digital button? That is supposed to produce "fake" surround sound from sources which don't have surround sound like a tv.

How to get sound through speakers with tv and not just dvds

Just wire your TV audio out to one of the receivers (DVD player) audio in and select AUX when you want the TV sound to play through the surround sound. You also might want to turn the volume down or off on your TV to get the full surround sound feeling, but that's your call.

No surround sound when watching TV

hdmi can only pass pcm 2.0 digital for the separate cables you may try to switch them to another output from the monitor to the receiver or if you can get your hands on a spd-if cable (one single fiberoptic cable that will go as high as 5.1 dolby surround)
